Let's Shop Local!📚❤️
I went to/Good Neighbor Bookstore! A family owned book store in beautiful downtown lakewood NY. The vibe inside is just as magical as the outside. There were SO many good books I saw there, even more than I could fit in this post. There were lots of cute bookish merch too, stickers, socks, cups. I left wanting one of everything. The man behind the cash register, which I now know to be Bob, one of the owners, was extremely kind and helpful. He definitely made our experience perfect. I'm definitely going to have to go back.
Now it's time to get vulnerable. It took me a long time to go to this book store after finding out how close it was to me. I will scream from the roof tops to support your local library in any way you can but I didn't go to a book store that was a 10 minute drive from where I lived my whole life ....(that is until I moved). My anxiety and fear of being perceived, sticking out, feeling other, messing up some invisible process I should know but don't...that has kept me from going to any place I hadn't been before. It's one small but frustrating way my anxiety presents itself. While I am working on it I still struggle. I am so glad I pushed past enough to be able to go into this amazing store. Supporting local businesses instead of places like Amazon has become more and more important to me as I get older. I know that requires being able to open the door to places. And on this day I'm proud to say I did.
🤐❤️If you read this far thank you!! I made a post a while back about starting a book blog. It was a project I started while the fate of this app was unknown because I had really grown to like it. It also was a way to work on my anxiety of speaking online. Well I wrote all about this bookstore, my experience there, why they're an amazing place to support, and how to support them on my blog! You can go to the link in my bio or directly to greeneclipsereads.com . I don't make any money from my blog or the things I post there. It's just a way for me to share what things I'm passionate about. I really do urge you to check out at least the bookstores website. If you want to support them from afar you can order books off their website!
Another thing about the blog is subscribers get the article in their emails a day early! if you want to sign your email up you will get that too!
Question if you made it this far: When was the last time you went to an independent book store? Did you know even if you don't have one near you that you can support them online?
Thank you guys again🥰❤️
