My last 4 movies on letterbox

It's a truly groundbreaking and disturbing piece of cinema that challenges perceptions long before its time. It’s definitely one of those "world famous movies" that every film enthusiast should experience. Its themes resonate even today, making it a profound watch and a true masterpiece of early horror. Then, I ventured into the more experimental territory with Flux Gourmet (2022). This one was certainly unique! The poster, showing a person holding a device and three figures in white robes with food on a table, hinted at its avant-garde nature. I appreciate films that push boundaries, but this one landed at 2 stars for me. It's a bizarre, satirical take on performance art and the culinary world, which was fascinating in its own right, but it might not be for everyone. If you’re looking for a "film" that is truly outside the box and don't mind a slow burn, give it a try. It sparks a lot of discussion about what defines art and entertainment. Finally, I wrapped up my recent watches with the Soviet horror gem, Viy (1967). What an experience! The horror movie poster for 'Viy,' with the pale, wide-eyed woman surrounded by demonic figures and candles, perfectly previews the chilling atmosphere within. This was another solid 5-star rating from me. It's an incredibly atmospheric and genuinely scary "older movie" that relies heavily on folklore and stunning practical effects. The imagery is unforgettable, and it left a lasting impression. If you're a fan of "scary movies" and want to explore international horror beyond the usual suspects, "Viy" is an absolute must-see that showcases the incredible power of storytelling and visual artistry. Logging these "last 4 watched Letterboxd" entries really highlights the diversity you can find.
