From Rock Bottom to Resilience
From Rock Bottom to Resilience: My Journey Through Grief & Growth
Life has tested me in ways I never imagined. I lost my 20-year-old son to an overdose, four years later my best friend the same way, and in 2023, both my parents to cancer within a five week period. Three days after my mom’s funeral, I lost my job.
I never thought I’d live in a world without my son, my best friend, and my parents. Grief changes you, but it also teaches you who you are when everything falls apart. This is how I picked up the pieces.
Grief could have swallowed me whole, but instead, I chose resilience. I stayed sober, I started sharing my story, and I built something meaningful out of my pain. Sharing my experience, strength, and hope with others who are going through grief has helped me maybe more than them.
I created my own job, by starting an LLC with my significant other, I mentor other ladies recovering from all: emotionally, mentally and physically sicknesses. I have created these action cards entitled “30 Daily Affirmations for Navigating Grief with Grace & Strength.” I have written a guided journal to help others process their grief entitled “Grieving Gracefully: A Guided Journal For Healing.” and I am working on an actionable workbook to accompany these two.
If you’re struggling through your hardest season, know this—you can survive. DIFFICULT DOES NOT MEAN IMPOSSIBLE and healing doesn’t mean forgetting, it means learning to carry love and loss together. 💜
