A Day in the Life - Spring Break🌻
This week is spring break for me, but I’m not going anywhere for vacation. I’m staying home and working on campus at the library. Campus has been really busy despite students being on spring break. Other student employees and staff are continuing to work like me. Students, such as seniors, are working on their projects for their senior exhibition starting after break. What I usually do as a student employee at the library is greet patrons, check out or return books, reshelf books, book study rooms, answer calls, etc. I have a busy week when school starts again 😵💫

During spring break, many students take time off, but for some, like student employees, the hustle continues. Working at the library isn't just about maintaining order; it's a bustling hub where students, particularly seniors, prepare for important exhibitions. The library becomes a quiet sanctuary amidst the chaos, echoing with the sounds of focused work and camaraderie. As a library employee, your role extends beyond assorted tasks such as checking in books or helping patrons; you are part of a vibrant academic community where knowledge and learning reign paramount. Being present during busy times also offers unique opportunities for collaboration and connection with fellow students. Students often share tips, collaborate on projects, or simply offer a friendly smile during busy hours. This spring break, while others may explore new destinations, I found solace and purpose in my role, embracing the student lifestyle while contributing to our collective academic journey. Each interaction, whether a simple book checkout or an engaging conversation, adds layers to the college experience, blending work with personal growth and community involvement. Embracing the quieter campus gives you the chance to reflect, plan for the future, and engage with fellow students in a meaningful way, making your break valuable beyond relaxation.
