I WAS BLONDE ONCE ✨

During the pandemic lockdown, I wanted to try something different. Something I’ve never done before…I wanted to dye my hair blonde! 👱‍♀️

My partners and I decided to change our hair and experiment with shaving and bleach and hair dye.

I think we used Punky Colour 40 Volume Bleach Kit and eventually, I needed to go to the salon for professional hair care.

I actually miss my blonde hair, and I didn’t get to keep it for long.

Should I go back?

Many people find that bleaching requires careful preparation and aftercare to maintain the health of their hair. From my experience, the bleaching process can leave hair fragile and in need of professional salon treatments to restore moisture and strength. Whether you’re shaving parts of your head or fully bleaching, it’s important to follow safety guidelines to avoid damage. Bleach works by lifting the natural pigment in your hair, which can cause dryness and breakage if not managed well. Using deep conditioning treatments and protein masks in the weeks after bleaching is highly recommended. During the pandemic lockdown, experimenting with hair color became a popular way to express creativity and try new looks while at home. Many users documented their #blondejourney online, sharing tips and emotional stories about embracing vulnerability and change. Some found the blonde hair transformative and empowering, while others missed their natural hair texture and color. If you’re considering going blonde, think about your hair type, the condition of your strands, and your willingness to commit to regular salon visits or intensive home care. Consulting a professional before bleaching can save you from irreversible damage. Remember, blonde hair isn’t just a color change—it’s a journey that requires patience and self-love. Reflecting on my own experience, I do miss my blonde hair and the confidence it brought me. Whether or not I decide to go back, embracing this change was a meaningful part of navigating the uncertainties of lockdown. To anyone thinking about trying something new with their hair, I encourage you to take the leap safely and joyfully, knowing you can always adapt and celebrate your unique look.
