Day trip to Segovia
My mom was staying with me for a month and I took off work from my weekend job so we could go somewhere outside of Madrid. I got a rental car from a car rental app called Amovens for the weekend 💰Price: 81.18 euros 💶 and we went to Segovia. First we went to a Riofrio royal palace outside of the main city to walk around the lavish gardens. Later we went to the main city to see the ancient Roman aqueducts. It is really impressive in size and that it has remained in place for so long. It was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1985. We saw an Easter procession and ate outside at a fancy restaurant right next to the aqueduct for a late lunch/early dinner. My mom really enjoyed this part of the trip since it was the first city other than Madrid she got to visit. Since she had never traveled outside of the USA before getting to see the ancient Roman architecture was one of her favorite highlights.
