I have finally done it!! My apprenticeship is complete and I am now a tattoo artist!!! I’m so happy to have finally accomplished something that I’ve been dreaming about since middle school!! Little sketches and doodles in my class notes here and there definitely caught the eye from my teachers. #tattoo #tattooartist #tattooapprenticeship #tattooappreciation

After countless hours of practice and dedication during my apprenticeship, it feels incredible to see my vision come to life on skin. You might have seen some of my latest pieces, like the intricate skull with a floral headpiece or the serene fishing scene silhouetted against a rising sun. Each one tells a story, and I pour my heart into making every design unique for my clients. One of the most requested styles I've encountered is text-based tattoos, and I absolutely love bringing meaningful phrases to life. The 'TIME CAST ITS SPELL ON YOU' tattoo, for instance, was a really special piece to work on. It's amazing how a few words in a decorative font can hold such profound meaning for someone. When creating text tattoos, I always encourage clients to think about the font style that best reflects their personality and the message, whether it's elegant script, bold block letters, or something more whimsical. Placement is also key – a phrase like this can look stunning along the ribcage, forearm, or even subtly behind the ear. Speaking of diverse styles, my portfolio is really growing, and I'm excited about the range of art I get to create. From vibrant anime-style characters, like the one with fiery red hair, to playful pixel-art designs featuring geometric shapes or even Pac-Man, I love exploring different aesthetics. I've also had the chance to work on more abstract pieces, like the kneeling female figure with a spiky form emerging, or dynamic flame-like shapes intertwined with chains and stars. It’s all about collaborating with the client to bring their unique idea to life, whether it’s a detailed rose with intertwined leaves or something completely out-of-the-box. As I transition from apprentice to full-fledged artist, one of the big steps is finding the right studio home. It's not just about a chair and a machine; it's about finding a supportive environment where creativity thrives and clients feel comfortable. I've been researching different tattoo garages and studios, looking at their reputation, artist roster, and client reviews. For anyone looking for a new artist or a studio, I always recommend checking out their online presence, browsing portfolios, and maybe even visiting in person. A good studio, whether it's in a bustling city like Bloomfield, NJ, or a quiet town, should feel welcoming and professional. Finding a local spot with artists specializing in the style you love is crucial for a great tattoo experience. This new chapter is thrilling, and I can't wait to see what amazing art I'll get to create next and where my artistic journey will take me!
