Armani Beauty’s Luminous Silk Foundation
Armani Beauty sent over their new formula of their Luminous Silk Foundation and I didn’t have anything bad to say about it - BUT I also never tested out the old formula.
Hearing that the old formula was dry, I didn’t find this formula to be as dry as described from past comments. I have combo skin and I could see where people with dry skin wouldn’t like this foundation as much - it didn’t leave my dry spots looking cakey but it wouldn’t be my first choice. If you have oily skin, this foundation would be a holy grail for you.
Having it for 2 weeks, it’s extremely lightweight and if not careful, you’ll forget you have makeup on, seriously. I’ve been using it on my oily areas as the shade match is impeccable and matched my winter shade perfectly. I use it primarily on my t zone area and it helps keep my face oils at bay. Did I mention it photographs extremely well in the light? I’ll have to drop some photos 🤔
Let me know your thoughts in the comments, have you tried this foundation? What were your thoughts and drop your skin type👇🏽

Stepping into the world of Armani Luminous Silk Foundation for the first time was an exciting journey, especially with its new formula. While my initial review touched on its incredible lightweight feel and how it beautifully handles oily T-zones, I know one of the biggest challenges for everyone, myself included, is finding that perfect shade match. It's truly the key to unlocking the foundation's full potential, making it look like your skin, but better! When it comes to the Luminous Silk Foundation, a proper shade match isn't just about avoiding a visible line at your jaw; it's about making the foundation truly disappear into your skin, enhancing that natural, silky, weightless finish we all crave. My own Shade Match Test involved swatching a few options on my jawline and checking them in various lighting, especially natural daylight. This really helps confirm the undertone and depth are right for you. Speaking of undertones, understanding if you're cool, warm, or neutral is crucial. A quick trick is to look at the veins on your wrist: blue/purple usually means cool, green indicates warm, and a mix of both suggests neutral. This small detail makes a huge difference in selecting your ideal shade. For those of you specifically asking about shades like 5.75 and 7.75, I've done a bit of research to help guide your choices. Shade 5.75 is often a beautiful option for light-medium skin tones with a balanced neutral-warm undertone, offering a seamless, natural beige. If your inquiry leans towards 7.75, you're likely looking for a gorgeous medium shade with golden or warmer undertones, perfect for adding a sun-kissed radiance without looking orange. Remember, these are general guides, and personal testing is always best, but hopefully, this gives you a starting point! Many brands now offer online shade finder tools, which can be a good initial step, but nothing beats seeing the foundation on your own skin. If possible, grab a sample or try it in-store. A good shade match allows the Luminous Silk to truly live up to its name, providing that coveted natural glow without masking your complexion. It’s what makes the foundation feel so undetectable, like a second skin, which I absolutely adore. The right shade ensures that the foundation looks radiant and smooth, not cakey or mismatched, especially when photographed. And for those curious about the 'Luminous Silk Hydrating Glow Extending Primer,' while I haven't personally reviewed it, many users swear by it to enhance the foundation's radiant finish and extend wear, especially if you desire that extra plump and dewy look. It’s designed to work in synergy with the foundation, amplifying its already stunning effects. Ultimately, investing time in finding your perfect shade ensures you get the most out of this iconic Armani Beauty product, making it a true holy grail in your makeup bag. Happy shade hunting!
