Tried & True Skincare: Sunscreen Edition Pt 1
Summer is right around the corner and that means doubling up on the sunscreen. If you haven’t been looking into sunscreens, no worries. This is part 1/2 of my too sunscreens that also work well under makeup.
- TOCOBO (water based) making it great for combo and oily skin. SPF 50, vitamin b5 and vitamin e.
- MIXSOON (soybean based) SPF 50 and best paired with its bean cream for best results under makeup
- SUNGBOON EDITOR mixture of a moisturizer and sunscreen with SPF 30. This one is better for non makeup days where you can reapply OR can be paired with morphed sunsetter setting spray for extra sunscreen protection.
Have you tried any of these sunscreens? @Lemon8 Beauty

Hey skincare fam! I wanted to dive a little deeper into finding the perfect sunscreen, especially if you're like me and have ever dealt with sensitive skin, post-facial treatment tenderness, or a compromised skin barrier. It’s not just about finding a sunscreen; it’s about finding a kind sunscreen that still offers robust protection every single day. You know how crucial daily sunscreen is, but for those of us with skin that needs extra TLC, the wrong formula can feel heavy, irritate, or even exacerbate issues. This is where lightweight daily sunscreens with high SPF come into play, and I’ve been on a mission to find the best ones. When my skin feels a bit delicate after a treatment, or if I’m just trying to maintain a healthy barrier, I look for formulas that aren't just effective but also soothing and gentle. Let's talk about some specific types that are perfect for this. The TOCOBO Bio Watery Sun Screen SPF 50, for instance, is a total game-changer. Being water-based and packed with ingredients like Vitamin B5 and Centella Asiatica Extract, it’s not just lightweight; it actively helps to calm and support your skin. Centella Asiatica is a superhero for reducing redness and inflammation, making this an ideal choice for skin recovering from facial treatments or experiencing barrier damage. It just melts into the skin without any white cast or heavy feeling, which is a huge plus for daily wear. Then there's the mixsoon Bean Sunscreen SPF 50. This one, with its unique soybean-based formula, feels incredibly nourishing yet still lightweight. I've found that when my skin barrier needs extra love, pairing it with its matching bean cream creates a really gentle, hydrating base that still allows makeup to sit beautifully on top. It’s a softer, more emollient approach to SPF 50 protection, which can be exactly what sensitive skin craves. And for those non-makeup days, or when you just want a simple, hydrating step, the SUNGBOON EDITOR Hydro Booster Moisture Sunscreen SPF 30 is fantastic. It’s like a moisturizer and sunscreen in one, meaning fewer layers for potentially reactive skin. While it’s SPF 30, it’s a brilliant option for days when you might be mostly indoors or if you’re diligent about reapplication. The 'Hydro Booster' in its name really highlights its focus on hydration, which is vital for any compromised skin barrier. When choosing sunscreens for skin that's recovering or sensitive, always look for formulas that are fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and non-comedogenic. Ingredients like hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and antioxidants are also great additions as they further support skin health. Remember, consistent application of a high-quality, lightweight daily sunscreen like these is your best defense against sun damage and premature aging, especially when your skin needs that extra bit of kindness. Stay protected, folks!
