6 Christian Morning Habits

... Read moreHey everyone! I've been on a journey to really deepen my spiritual life, and I wanted to share some of the incredible practices that have truly transformed my mornings. It's amazing how just a few intentional moments can set such a positive tone for the entire day, helping me cultivate stronger spiritual habits in the bible. One of the first things I started doing was praying when I wake up. Instead of immediately reaching for my phone, I try to offer a simple prayer of thanks as soon as my eyes open. It doesn't have to be long or fancy – sometimes it's just 'Thank you, God, for this new day.' It instantly shifts my focus from my to-do list to gratitude. I've found it makes a huge difference in my mindset. Next, I make sure to prioritize spending quality time with God. For me, this often means grabbing my Bible. I used to feel pressured to read a whole chapter, but now I focus on just a few verses, letting them really sink in. This ties into my "Bible before phone!" rule. It's so tempting to scroll through social media first thing, but I've realized that feeding my spirit with God's word is far more nourishing. Even just five minutes with an open Bible, reading a Psalm or a short devotional, before I touch my phone, makes me feel grounded. Another habit I absolutely love is to TAKE A JESUS WALK!! If the weather permits, stepping outside for a walk while praying or simply reflecting on God's creation is incredibly refreshing. I often think about a beautiful sunset over ocean waves and how God's artistry is everywhere. It’s a wonderful way to connect with Him in nature, clearing my mind and allowing me to pray freely without distractions. I also practice BIBLE BREATHS IN THE MORNING!. This is a simple but powerful technique where you inhale a scripture verse or a spiritual truth and exhale a prayer or a related thought. For example, 'Inhale: God is my strength. Exhale: Help me lean on You today.' It's a great way to meditate on God’s word and invite His presence into my day, especially if I’m feeling rushed. These aren't meant to be rigid rules, but rather loving invitations to grow closer to God. I've found that consistency, even imperfect consistency, is key. If I miss a day, I don't beat myself up; I just start fresh the next morning. Each of these christian morning habits helps me to remember that my day isn't about me, but about living for Him. By putting God first in the morning, I feel more prepared to face whatever comes my way, with peace and purpose. What are some of your favorite ways to start your day with God?
