These cafes offer a wonderful blend of local charm and familiar comfort. For something uniquely Okinawan, you absolutely must try the Okinawan noodles, often called Okinawa Soba. Forget what you think you know about Japanese ramen; this is different! I had a bowl with thick, chewy noodles, tender pork ribs, delicate fish cake, a sprinkle of bright red ginger, and fresh green onions in a flavorful broth. And for those who love a bit of spice, I discovered a delightful spiced curry with rice served with a colorful array of vegetable toppings like sweet carrots, crunchy cabbage, and creamy potato salad, paired with a refreshing glass of mango juice. My advice for eating in Okinawa? Don't be afraid to try everything! From small local eateries to bustling markets, there’s a culinary gem waiting around every corner.
