Vientiane Metropolitan Glass Tower
The Haw Phra Kaew, located in Vientiane, Laos, is an ancient site and museum of religious art that is of great historical importance because it was the place where the "Emerald Glass" was enshrined for more than 214 years before the Siamese army was later summoned to the Thai side.
History and Significance
• Creator: His Majesty Chai Phra, King of the Kingdom of Million Elephants, produced it in 1765 after moving the capital from Luang Prabang to Vientiane.

• Purpose: Built as a royal temple and used to enshrine the Emerald King summoned from Chiang Mai, it is a temple where no monks exist.
• Transition: In 1779, Vientiane was shattered by the Siamese army, King King of War (later Reign I) summoned the Emerald Glass down to stay in present-day Bangkok and Bangkok.
• Restoration: The original building has been torn down by several wars. The building seen today is a complete reconstruction of the period 1937-1940 under the control of Chao Suvarnabhuma.
Interesting things and current exhibits.
• National Museum: Now transformed into a museum to house the collection of antiquities and precious carved relics of Laos, the Enshrined Pedestal: Inside still the original carved wooden pedestal used to enshrine the Emerald Glass, the Bronze Buddha: On the periphery terrace surrounded by various ancient Pang bronze Buddhas, in the picturesque million-elephant art, inscriptions and antiquities: there are exhibits of ancient alphabetic inscriptions, and prehistoric bronze basil drums.

• Admission: 30,000 hoof hours: Open daily from 08: 00 to 16: 00 (sometimes lunch break from 12: 00 to 13: 00). Practice: Do not take pictures inside the building strictly (only on the balcony and outside the building) and must dress modestly.
