He's truly mastered the art of being a 'professional good boy' most of the time, especially when he's getting belly rubs or treats. But then, there's his 'part-time menace' side, which usually involves him pretending he can't hear me when it's time to come inside, or attempting to 'herd' the vacuum cleaner! It’s all part of his charming Pomsky personality that keeps me on my toes. One of the first things people notice about Gunner is his stunning eyes. He has what's called heterochromia – one eye is a bright, piercing blue, and the other is a deep, soulful brown. It’s a trait that makes him incredibly unique and always sparks conversation wherever we go. His beautiful white and brown coat is also super soft, though it does require a bit of grooming to keep him looking his best! I use a slicker brush a few times a week, and he actually enjoys it most of the time. He loves to lounge, and you can often find him curled up on his favorite soft grey pet bed, usually with a happy, smiling expression on his face, even when he’s just woken up from a nap. Living with a Pomsky like Gunner has been such an adventure. They're a hybrid breed, a mix of Siberian Husky and Pomeranian, so they get the best (and sometimes the most mischievous!) traits from both. Gunner is incredibly intelligent, which makes training fun, but also means he needs plenty of mental stimulation to keep him from getting bored. Daily walks, trips to the dog park, and puzzle toys are essential for burning off his energy. He's also very affectionate and loves being close to his family – he's definitely a big cuddle bug, always wanting to be by my side, whether I'm working or just relaxing on the couch. His daily routine usually involves an early morning walk to sniff out all the neighborhood news, followed by breakfast. Then it's playtime with his favorite squeaky toys before settling down for a mid-morning nap on his trusty pet bed. Afternoons are for training sessions or another outdoor adventure. He absolutely loves chasing squirrels, though he's never actually caught one! In the evenings, it's more cuddles and quiet time before bed. For anyone considering a Pomsky, I'd say be prepared for a dog with a big personality in a medium-sized package. They thrive on companionship and can be quite vocal, often 'talking' to you like a Husky when they want something or are just expressing themselves. They're quick learners but can also be stubborn, so consistency in training is key. Gunner has brought so much joy and laughter into my life, and watching his playful antics, whether he's chasing a ball or just giving me that signature Pomsky 'sass,' is truly the best. I wouldn’t trade my professional good boy (and part-time menace) for anything! He's my shadow and my best friend.
