Just Me

#HelloLemon8 #gettoknowme

Hi, I’m Guy, 56, Christian, widower, Veteran, Martial Arts Teacher, starting over with my life after years of taking care of others. My daughter is in her own apartment. Just recently engaged. She has a great relationship and job. She’s got her life in order. I’m one proud Papa. I’m empty nesting. Back in 2024 I was in a really bad car accident. I was paralyzed from the waist down. Now with hard work and determination, I’m walking again. I use a BioNess device on my left leg to get my foot drop not to drag. I still have some TBI I’m dealing with. Some memory issues. But I’m climbing up the hill, not staying stagnant. I had gained weight up to 287 LBS. now I’m down to 204 LBS. I walk 2+ miles daily and lift light weights 5-6 days a week while eating as healthy as I can. I’m trying to be as good a person as I can, but I am human and have my days and faults. If you want to get to know me. Reach out. I’m new here, and would like to get to know people. Have a blessed day.

... Read moreSharing personal experiences like Guy's journey truly highlights the power of resilience and commitment to self-improvement. After a severe car accident resulting in paralysis, it's inspiring to see how consistent rehabilitation efforts, like using assistive devices such as the BioNess for foot drop, can help regain mobility and independence. Recovery is often a gradual process, especially with accompanying challenges like traumatic brain injury (TBI) and memory issues, but maintaining a positive mindset is crucial. Weight management after such life-changing events is another critical piece. Losing nearly half of his body weight through walking over two miles daily and lifting light weights demonstrates the importance of setting achievable fitness goals and the benefits of combining cardiovascular exercise with strength training. Eating healthy complements these efforts and supports overall well-being. For many in similar situations, the journey also involves emotional healing—embracing new chapters like empty nesting and redefining identity beyond caregiving roles. Guy’s openness to connecting with others reflects how social support can uplift and motivate during transitions. Veterans, martial arts practitioners, or anyone facing health hurdles can draw motivation from such stories. Establishing daily routines, practicing patience with oneself, and seeking communities for shared experiences are valuable strategies. Progress may sometimes be slow, but every step forward—whether physical or emotional—is a victory worth celebrating. If you find yourself starting over, remember that resilience is built day by day with determination, support, and self-belief. Sharing our stories fosters connection and encouragement, proving we are never truly alone on our paths to recovery and renewal.

A giant inflatable figure of a woman in a blue bikini, representing Kim Kardashian, lies on a black ball on a blue platform labeled 'SKIMS SWIM' in Times Square, NYC. Tall buildings and bright billboards surround the installation, with people walking by.
NYC just got a 60-FOOT Kim K in a BIKINI
WHY is there a giant inflatable Kim Kardashian lounging in Times Square like she’s sunbathing at the Bahamas? The Skims swimsuit collab is aggressively viral, I’ll give her that. Did we need a 60-foot Kim replica? My feed’s flooded with tourists posing like they’re climbing Mount Kardashian.
