I thought becoming someone new would feel bigger.
Maybe it just feels quieter.
I’m making different choices.
Seeing things differently.
Wanting different things.
I’m not finished.
I don’t have everything figured out.
But I don’t miss who I had to be to survive anymore.
And that feels like progress. 🤍
Transitioning into a new version of myself has been an unexpected journey. I initially thought it would feel dramatic or larger-than-life, but instead, it feels quieter—more subtle and deeply personal. I’m realizing that growth isn’t always about monumental changes; sometimes it’s about small shifts in perspective and learning to appreciate the peace that comes with shedding old survival modes. This process of becoming involves making different choices that align more authentically with my true self. I've started seeing situations differently and allowing myself to want new things that genuinely resonate with who I am now. It’s important to acknowledge that transformation doesn't mean having all the answers. Feeling unfinished or uncertain is part of the journey—and that’s okay. One of the most powerful aspects of this change is releasing attachment to the version of myself that I had to embody just to get through difficult times. I no longer miss that person because I understand the survival she provided, but I’m now ready to embrace a more healed, aware, and intentional self. This realization feels like real progress in emotional healing and personal growth. From my experience, emotional healing is a continuous journey, not a destination. It involves patience, kindness towards oneself, and embracing vulnerability. Self-worth grows as we learn to accept where we are in our journey and trust that the process of becoming is unfolding as it should. If you’re on a similar path of transformation, know that it’s okay to feel quieter, unfinished, or uncertain. These feelings are signs of growth happening beneath the surface. Celebrate your progress, no matter how subtle it feels, because becoming a new version of yourself is one of the most courageous things you can do.

What’s something about the person you’re becoming that you didn’t see coming?
