Finding Peace in Matthew 6 & 7 🌿
I’ve been studying Matthew chapters 6 and 7, and these verses have brought me so much peace lately. One verse that stands out is Matthew 6:33: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” It’s such a powerful reminder to trust God first and let Him handle the rest.
Another verse I’m leaning into is Matthew 6:34: “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” As a mom and wife trying to survive, I tend to overthink, but this verse helps me slow down and focus on today.
Lastly, Matthew 7 reminds me to build my life on a strong foundation: God’s Word. It’s a challenge, but one I’m taking seriously as I navigate this season of life.
Have you read these chapters recently? Let me know what stood out to you!
In Matthew 6, we find essential teachings from Jesus that guide us in our daily lives. One crucial aspect is the emphasis on seeking God's kingdom and righteousness first (Matthew 6:33), which assures us that all our needs will be met in His timing. This calls for a heart of faith, trusting that God cares for our futures. Additionally, Matthew 6:34 encourages us not to worry about tomorrow, reinforcing the need to live in the present and embrace each moment. By understanding that worry does not add value to our existence, we can shift our perspectives towards gratitude and contentment. Chapter 7 echoes the theme of building our lives on a solid foundation, advocating for wisdom in our decisions. It highlights the importance of discernment while interacting with others, reminding us that we can identify true intentions by observing their actions (Matthew 7:16-20). This foundational approach not only strengthens our personal faith but also enriches our relationships with those around us. As you reflect on these teachings, consider how they can be applied to overcome personal struggles and foster growth in your spiritual journey.

I read through Matthew when my flight got delayed. Matthew 6:34 definitely reminds me to trust in God and not cause anxiety by worrying about tomorrow. I try to remind myself not to be like the Israelites and be thankful for each day and not worry about tomorrow because he will always provide and he’s a good father!❤️
