If I’ve improved anything over the last year, it’s my shower routine. My nightly shower is my time to relax and unwind. Lately I’ve been loving all things vanilla 🤍
Products and How I Use Them:
1. Dr. Bronner’s (either unscented or the almond one)
This is my first wash. I use it to get all the dirt, perfume and oil off of my skin. Sometimes I just use a wash cloth or I use my exfoliating sponge.
2. Dove Coconut Body Wash
I typically use this right after my first wash to hydrate my skin and add another layer of scent.
3 & 4 Tree Hut Tropical Glow Shave Oil and Vanilla Body Scrub
I usually only use these products if I’m shaving (obviously) but I usually use the scrub first and then shave
5. Vaseline Radiance Lotion
I leave my body a little damp when I get out and apply this. It smells so good and really does make your skin glow.
6. MixBar Vanilla Bourbon
I spray this in my hair if it’s not hair wash day or if I want something a little extra
7. Cuccio Cuticle Oil
I get my nails done every 4 weeks so I like to make sure they stay healthy
... Read moreI totally get that feeling of wanting to transform your shower into a true self-care sanctuary, especially when it comes to embracing a specific scent like vanilla! While I absolutely adore my go-to products, I've learned so much about diving deeper into vanilla-themed routines. It's not just about one product; it's about building a whole experience.
When you're looking to compare vanilla self-care options or find some truly delightful vanilla-based self-care alternatives, you're opening up a world of possibilities. I've found that vanilla isn't just one note; it can be warm and gourmand, smoky and sophisticated, or light and sweet. Thinking about what kind of vanilla you prefer is the first step. For a rich, dessert-like vanilla, you might lean towards brands known for their decadent body butters and scrubs. If you prefer something more subtle and comforting, look for products that blend vanilla with notes of musk or sandalwood.
One area many people ask about is Dr. Bronner's vanilla – or rather, how to integrate a clean base like Dr. Bronner's into a vanilla routine when they don't have a specific vanilla scent. My tip? Use it as your clean slate! The unscented or almond Dr. Bronner's (which I use) is fantastic for genuinely cleansing your skin without leaving a strong fragrance that might clash. This allows your subsequent vanilla-scented products, like a lavish body wash or a rich body scrub, to really shine through. It's all about layering. After my initial cleanse, that's when I bring in the vanilla.
Speaking of vanilla body washes, if you’re wondering what vanilla body washes are trending in self-care routines, you're in luck because there are so many amazing options popping up! I've been eyeing a few that friends rave about or that I've seen all over social media. Brands like Sol de Janeiro with their Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 62 fragrance mist (though a mist, it influences body wash choices) or Eos's Vanilla Cashmere body lotion and body wash lines are incredibly popular for their rich, comforting vanilla scents. Native also has fantastic clean ingredient options with popular vanilla scents, often blended with coconut or amber, which could be a lovely alternative. What I love about these trending options is that they often focus on skin-loving ingredients, delivering hydration alongside that irresistible vanilla aroma. They’re a perfect second wash to really infuse your skin with a long-lasting, delicious scent.
Don't forget the power of exfoliation in a vanilla routine! While I swear by my Tree Hut Vanilla Body Scrub, there are other fantastic options if you're exploring alternatives. Look for scrubs with natural exfoliants and a strong vanilla essence to really smooth your skin and prepare it for deeper hydration. And for post-shower indulgence, that vanilla bourbon body mist and a hydrating lotion are absolute game-changers. I always make sure to seal in all that moisture – especially after using an exfoliating sponge – and a vanilla-scented lotion really extends the aromatic experience. Even my cuticle oil gets a moment of self-care, proving that every step can be a luxurious touch in your personalized vanilla journey. Ultimately, crafting your perfect vanilla self-care routine is about discovering what scents truly make you feel relaxed and pampered, and then letting those beautiful aromas envelop you from start to finish.
