• it wasn’t bad for an over night stay but that lady who owned the airbnb definitely had some ocd and was very specific about how she wanted things.

• if you go to the Salt Flats in the summer be prepared to be ATTACKED by flies. When I tell you that we were finding flies for DAYS after it was absolutely insane. Flies were in our car, in our suitcases, in our hair, our ears, literally everywhere!
• if you plan to drive onto the flats, be prepared to have lots of salt residue on your car that is difficult to get off.
• it’s about an hour and 40 minute drive from Salt Lake City. Make sure you have enough gas in your car. There is a gas station right outside of the flats, but they do be taxin out there fr 😂
Have you ever been to the Salt Flats?
One of my absolute favorite places I have ever been! My first visit was in May of 2022 during the day. My second visit was during sunset in July of 2024. I absolutely love how beautiful and peaceful this place is. One of my bucket list goals is to experience the Salt Flats when they are flooded!

I live north of SLC, and when I go to the Salt Flats, I usually stay in West Wendover, NV. There are some cool dark sky spots in Wendover once you get out of town a little bit that are fantastic for stargazing.
