I just wanted to share how we’ve been setting up our booth at our recent festivals! I 1,000% believe that presentation is EVERYTHING 😂❤️❤️❤️ we put so much time and thought into our presentation and it does its job, because it draws people in to admire and then (usually) they end up purchasing something!❤️❤️
We got these 3 tiered Acrylic displays for like 6 bucks a piece, and we got the risers to set behind them for 1.25 at the 1.25tree! So that way we can utilize more space on our table, it adds dimension and it looks so cute too! ❤️❤️
The BEE DISPLAY! 😍😍😍 it’s literally a beehive, my husbands grandfather made for us and it’s absolutely a show stopper!! If you can find a unique way to display your plushies like this, people are going to look! 👀 same with the possums, they’re hanging upside down bc they’re possums and that’s what they do! 😂😂 it’s interesting and fun! 🤩 I don’t have it in these market photos, but I made a ton of crochet cupcake plushies, and I ordered a cupcake stand for them to go on! It was SO cute! And cheap too! You don’t have to spend a crazy amount of money to make your booth unique and appealing. As we learned the last few shows, plushies are becoming more and more popular and there’s a lot of competition so it’s almost not good enough just to have beautiful plushies, you have to make yourself stand out among the crowd! It is a pain toting all of this stuff around but it is SO worth it! ❤️❤️❤️ I hope this maybe was helpful for other crocheters out there, because there are a ton of us! ❤️❤️
... Read moreSetting up a craft market booth can feel like a huge task, especially when you want your beautiful crochet creations to stand out in a sea of talented makers! From my own journey, I’ve learned that while having amazing plushies is key, how you display them is what often draws people in and makes them stay. It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about creating an experience for your shoppers.
Beyond just having pretty displays, think about the overall flow and functionality of your booth. I always try to arrange my tables in an L-shape or U-shape if space allows. This creates an inviting path for customers to walk through, encouraging them to browse longer rather than just pass by a straight wall of products. Good lighting is another game-changer. Natural light is fantastic, but for indoor markets or evening events, a few battery-operated LED lights can make your yarn colors pop and illuminate those intricate details on your crochet plushies that might otherwise get lost in shadow. Clear signage for pricing is also crucial – no one likes guessing! And don’t forget a visible sign with your brand name and social media handles; it’s an easy way for people to find you online later.
When it comes to the displays themselves, don't be afraid to get creative and repurpose items. I've found so much inspiration by just looking at everyday objects differently. For example, using acrylic stands and risers (grabbed mine super cheap!) helps lift smaller items like my baby birds or tiny bees, giving them eye-level attention. Vertical space is your friend! If you're selling hanging items like my possums, a small pegboard or grid wall stand can work wonders, letting them dangle freely and showcase their unique charm. I’ve even seen people use old wooden ladders or crates to create tiered displays, adding a rustic, handmade feel. Remember how I mentioned my wire kitchen rack? It's perfect for holding a variety of colorful crochet plushies like turtles, stars, and bananas, keeping them organized yet easily accessible.
Theme your displays to tell a story! My husband's grandfather made that incredible beehive for my bees, and it’s a total conversation starter. Think about what makes your items unique. If you have ducks in frog hats, maybe a little pond-like setting? Or if you have pigs with strawberries, a miniature farm stand vibe could be adorable. A spinning rack can be great for smaller, impulse-buy items, allowing customers to easily browse a full collection. Grouping similar items by color or type also makes your booth look more organized and appealing. For instance, all your rainbow-colored crochet plushies together, or a section dedicated just to food-themed crochet plushies.
Finally, think about portability and the customer experience. I know the pain of toting all this stuff around, so investing in collapsible tables, lightweight shelving, and well-organized storage bins with wheels can save your back (and sanity!) on market days. Make sure you have easy payment options, like a card reader. Most importantly, your unique display should invite interaction. When people are drawn to a clever setup, they're more likely to engage with you and your products. It's an investment of time and effort, but seeing customers smile and walk away with your cherished creations makes it all incredibly worthwhile!
