Anna’s on the Lake ☕️
Anna's on the Lake is an adorable cafe, bar, and Airbnb located right on the harbor of Lake Michigan. This is such an exclusive location - right in the heart of downtown, walking distance to the weekend markets and all of the best shopping and parks, and the offerings at Anna’s are all fantastic. This is a locally owned small business complete with the most adorable and comforting decor.
Tables positioned near the window offer fantastic views of the Lake Michigan harbor, and the patio is available for outdoor seating with a bar open on weekends.
I ordered the lil popper sandwich and a honey butter croissant which were both a 10/10. My honey lavender latte was also lovely and I would highly recommend this spot to anyone who’s local or visiting.

After my fantastic first visit to Anna's on the Lake, I wanted to share a bit more about what makes this Kenosha gem so special. Beyond the amazing food I mentioned, the atmosphere truly sets it apart. Walking in, you're greeted by that comforting cafe buzz, and it instantly feels like a welcoming escape by the water. The interior is thoughtfully designed, feeling both modern and rustic. I loved eyeing the detailed counter with its coffee equipment and array of syrups, set against a clean white subway tile backsplash. Up above, wooden shelves display charming plants and coffee bags, adding to the cozy, artisan feel. And yes, there's even a blackboard sign detailing specials or social media, giving it that perfect local touch. The cozy seating areas with their wooden tables, flower vases, and comfy benches are just perfect for lingering over your coffee or meal. You can really tell the owners poured their heart into creating a comforting space. Let's talk more about the menu, because it's truly a highlight! While I raved about the 'lil popper' sandwich and the honey butter croissant, their breakfast menu (served 7 AM - 11 AM) offers so much more. I saw options like the classic 'Bacon Cheddar' sandwich, and a variety of toasts. It’s clear they put a lot of care into their offerings, making it a perfect spot for brunch or a casual lunch. Their pastries, like the honey butter croissant, are a must-try – flaky, perfectly sweet, and just melt-in-your-mouth delicious. And for those weekend visits, the outdoor patio with its bar is an absolute dream. Imagine sipping a refreshing drink while gazing out at the Lake Michigan harbor. Even from inside, the window seats offer fantastic views, making any meal feel special. It's not just a cafe; it's an experience that invites you to slow down and savor the moment. What's really unique is that Anna's on the Lake also doubles as an Airbnb! While I only visited the cafe, the thought of waking up to those lake views and having coffee downstairs is incredibly appealing. It truly makes it a destination, whether you're a local looking for a staycation or a visitor exploring Kenosha. Being so close to downtown Kenosha means you can easily pair your visit with a stroll through the weekend markets, explore local shops, or relax in the nearby parks. It's truly a central hub for anyone looking to enjoy the best of Kenosha. Whether you're after a delicious bite, a great coffee, or simply a beautiful spot to unwind and take some photos, Anna's on the Lake delivers. It's definitely a place I'll be returning to on my next Kenosha adventure!
