🍝 All Right, All Right… I’ve Been Slacking!

A Super Easy Creamy Garlic Pasta for Busy Moms

All right, all right… I know. I’ve been slacking on posting recipes. Life has been life-ing, kids have been kid-ing, and honestly sometimes dinner is just whatever I can throw together before someone asks for a snack again.

So today I’m sharing one of my go-to lazy but delicious dinners that looks like I tried way harder than I actually did.

If you’re a laid-back, busy mom like me, this one’s for you. ❤️

🛒 Ingredients

(Serves 4)

12 oz pasta (any kind works)

2 tbsp butter

3 cloves garlic (minced)

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated parmesan cheese

Salt & pepper to taste

Optional: grilled chicken, shrimp, or broccoli

📌 Mom Tip:

“Use whatever pasta is hiding in the pantry. No one will know.”

Step 1: Boil the Pasta

What to do

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Add pasta and cook according to package

Drain and set aside.

✨ “Simple dinners are sometimes the best dinners.”

Step 2: Make the Garlic Butter Base

What to do

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add minced garlic.

Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

"If garlic is involved, we’re already winning."

Mom Thought:

💬 “Smells like I know what I’m doing in the kitchen.”

Step 3: Create the Creamy Sauce

What to do

Pour in the heavy cream.

Stir well and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.

Slowly add parmesan cheese while stirring.

"This is the moment it starts looking fancy."

Step 4: Add the Pasta

What to do

Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet.

Stir until the pasta is coated in the sauce.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

"Mix, taste, adjust… and try not to eat half the pan."

Mom Reality:

💬 “Dinner in 20 minutes… and nobody complained.”

Step 5: Plate & Serve

What to do

Serve warm.

Top with extra parmesan if desired.

Add grilled chicken or veggies if you want to look extra impressive.

"Not bad for a ‘what’s for dinner’ panic meal."

Quote:

✨ “Good food doesn’t have to be complicated.”

❤️ Final Mom Thoughts

All right… maybe I haven’t been slacking after all.

Sometimes the best meals are the quick, messy, thrown-together ones that bring everyone to the table.

And if nobody asked “what’s for dinner?” ten times while you made it… that’s a win.

... Read moreAs a busy mom myself, I know how challenging it can be to prepare a nice meal when time is limited and distractions are endless. What I love about this creamy garlic pasta recipe is how versatile and forgiving it is. You don’t have to have fancy ingredients or spend hours in the kitchen. The recipe calls for pantry staples like pasta, butter, garlic, heavy cream, and parmesan — all things I usually keep on hand. One personal tip I’ve found helpful is to use whatever pasta shape is available; it really doesn’t impact the taste much, and sometimes using an unexpected shape adds a fun twist that kids enjoy. I also often bulk it up by adding frozen broccoli or quick-cooked shrimp for some extra protein and nutrients. Just toss them in the skillet once the sauce starts simmering, and they’re ready in minutes. Another trick for saving time is to prep the garlic ahead of time or use pre-minced garlic when you’re really in a rush. The garlic flavor really makes this dish stand out and gives a homemade touch even when you’re short on time. From experience, this recipe works wonderfully as a go-to for those days when you’re feeling like you’re “slacking” but still want to serve something tasty and comforting to your family. The creamy sauce feels indulgent without being overly complicated, and the whole dish comes together quickly — perfect for busy weeknights when you don’t have time to fuss. Lastly, don’t stress about presentation on hectic days. Even just plating it with a sprinkle of extra parmesan and a fresh grind of black pepper makes it feel a bit special. And if you’re sharing with friends or on social media, remember that meals like this are what busy moms everywhere appreciate the most: simple, quick, and delicious. Enjoy cooking and don’t hesitate to personalize this recipe to what you have available in your pantry and fridge!

I can understand the life of busy moms and dads. We raised 3 boys and juggled full-time jobs and the boys sports. Now they are all grown and have their own families. I love pasta and chicken so I can’t wait to make this. Kudos to you. ❤️
