Officially an RN!

Took my NCLEX this weekend and just found out I passed!! Even though it shut off at 85, I still felt like I failed and that is completely normal. Some things i recommend are Kaplan, Hurst and Mark Klimek lectures. Our school utilized Kaplan throughout the whole program and it was the best study resource I can recommend! It is nearly identical to the NCLEX.

2 days before my NCLEX, I watched mark klimek youtube videos and used these notes I found. Everyone says don’t study the day of or the day before but I studied up until the minute I walked into that building. No one is going to have the same exam but having a general understanding and knowledge of the fundamentals and how to prioritize will make the test 100x easier. If you can prioritize, you can pass! ... Read morePreparing for the NCLEX can be a daunting task for many nursing students, but understanding effective study strategies can lead to success. It's crucial to start by familiarizing oneself with the test format and content areas covered. Many candidates find that utilizing resources like Kaplan review courses, which offer a comprehensive look at exam material, can be tremendously helpful. Kaplan's test simulations mirror the actual exam, aiding in building both knowledge and confidence. Beyond Kaplan, Mark Klimek’s lectures, accessible via platforms like YouTube, provide unique insights and tips that can enhance your understanding of nursing fundamentals. These resources can be particularly beneficial just days before the exam, as they revisit key concepts and offer memorable mnemonics to facilitate recall under pressure. In addition, creating a structured study schedule is vital. Integrate both review resources and practice questions into daily study sessions to maintain a balanced preparation approach. Many successful test-takers recommend studying until the last minute, which can help solidify understanding but should be done judiciously to avoid burnout. It's also valuable to connect with peers or form study groups to share insights and strategies. Discussing challenging topics together often leads to a deeper grasp of the material. Deliberate practice with NCLEX-style questions can assist in recognizing patterns and question formats, which is fundamental on exam day. Once you've week studied various topics, ensure to simulate the test environment to get comfortable with pacing and managing exam stress. Remember, many candidates experience anxiety, and knowing the format can alleviate some of that pressure as you take your seat in the exam room. Ultimately, a positive mindset and consistent preparation will greatly empower your chances of becoming a registered nurse. Good luck on your NCLEX journey!
