Read moreEngaging with social media trends like #BlackTikTok and movements such as #BlackLivesMatter has become a profound way for communities to express identity, share stories, and advocate for justice. From my personal experience, these hashtags are more than just online phenomena; they represent ongoing conversations about representation, equity, and empowerment. #BlackTikTok showcases a diverse array of Black creators who use the platform to celebrate culture, humor, talents, and perspectives often underrepresented in mainstream media. The community has organically set its own 'rules' or cultural norms, which evolve through shared values and collective interaction rather than formal authority. This grassroots creation of norms is what makes #BlackTikTok vibrant and authentic. Meanwhile, #BlackLivesMatter began as a hashtag and has grown into a global movement demanding systemic change against racial injustice. Understanding the origins of these movements helps in appreciating their impact. #BlackLivesMatter was founded in response to violence and injustice faced by Black individuals, fostering activism that resonates both online and offline. Being part of these conversations invites us to reflect on who creates cultural narratives and how social media platforms amplify voices that historically lacked visibility. These movements emphasize that change is driven by people who speak out, share their experiences, and collectively challenge systems of inequality. Embracing this understanding enhances the depth of engagement with these important social dynamics.

Oh honey….I’m so so sorry you are being treated that way. I really wonder when we will all just be humans, take away the skin, we all bleed red blood, our bodies work the same…I’m really sorry people can’t be more loving and kind.
