Things to junk
When it comes to junking old items, the key is to think creatively and sustainably. For example, old shoes can be transformed into planters or used as quirky storage solutions. Phone cases, especially those for popular devices like the Nintendo Switch, can be customized or combined to make unique accessories or artwork. I've experimented with repurposing junkcases—turning cracked or outdated cases into decorative displays for my favorite trinkets. Skirts that no longer fit or are out of style can be cut and sewn into bags or stylish clutches. Junkbags don’t necessarily mean trash; with some creativity, they can be revamped with embellishments or fabric paint for a fresh look. Even luxury brand items, like pieces from Chanel, can be given a second life by repurposing their hardware or fabric into new creations. The Aries Lonely Hearts Club concept inspired me to personalize items with meaningful symbols or messages, making junked items feel more heartfelt and unique. Sharing these ideas with friends or in online communities can spark new projects and reduce waste. Junking isn’t just about disposal—it’s about reinventing and finding value in what others might discard.
