Where my writers at???
Okay so I’m starting my second book and I realized that the practice of handwriting has kind of started to fade.
I literally have to write everything by hand before I even think about picking up a laptop. Anyone else feel the same way??
I know it’s a lot more time consuming but I feel like that extra time is so worth it.

Handwriting has long been a cherished step in the writing process for many authors. Though often viewed as time-consuming, writing by hand can significantly boost creativity and improve focus. When you put pen to paper, you tend to engage more deeply with your thoughts, allowing ideas to flow more naturally without the distractions common to digital devices. Moreover, research has shown that handwriting can enhance memory retention and comprehension, making it easier to develop complex characters and plotlines. Many writers find that physically forming letters and words helps them connect emotionally with their stories, fostering a more authentic narrative voice. While digital tools offer speed and convenience, starting with handwritten drafts provides an intentional pause to reflect and refine ideas before committing them to a screen. This method also minimizes the temptation to edit prematurely, encouraging a freer creative process essential for novel writing. If you're beginning a book or any writing project, consider dedicating time to handwriting your initial thoughts. Not only may it improve the quality of your work, but it also honors a traditional practice that many acclaimed writers swear by. This technique aligns with hashtags like #writingabook, #writingvibes, #writingmotivation, and the community culture found in #lemon8bookclub, fostering deeper engagement with fellow writers who appreciate the art of penmanship in storytelling.
