Genuinely so content in singleness God is gonna have to do something. #christiangirl #singlechristian #jesus #singleness #dating #christiandating
Hey everyone! I recently shared a snippet about being genuinely content in singleness, and I wanted to dive a bit deeper into what that truly means for me, Halee McKenzie. It's a journey, and honestly, it's not always easy, especially when the world around us constantly pushes narratives about finding ‘the one’ or feeling incomplete without a partner. But for me, this season of singleness has become a profound and fulfilling journey rooted deeply in my faith. When I say, as I did playfully, that "God is gonna have to hit me over the head and say this is your husband," it’s not out of resistance to love or marriage. Quite the opposite! It's a declaration of profound trust and a desire for divine clarity. It means I'm stepping away from the anxiety of constantly searching, swiping, or trying to force connections that aren't meant to be. Instead, I’m choosing to believe that when the time is right, and the person is right, God’s hand in bringing that person into my life will be absolutely undeniable. This sense of contentment didn't just appear overnight. It's been cultivated by intentionally shifting my focus. Instead of obsessing over 'who will I marry?' I've been asking myself, 'who am I becoming?' I've poured my energy into growing my relationship with Jesus, nurturing deep friendships, pursuing my passions, and investing in my personal development. For any Christian girl navigating the dating world, it can sometimes feel isolating or confusing. There's a delicate balance between being open to new connections and intentionally guarding your heart, ensuring you're aligning with God's will rather than societal pressures. For anyone else out there in a similar season, here are a few things that have really helped me find peace and joy. First and foremost, cultivate a deep, intimate relationship with God. He is the ultimate source of fulfillment, peace, and purpose, whether you're single or married. Second, invest wholeheartedly in your community – your friends, your family, your church. These relationships are incredibly vital and can offer immense support and love. Third, take the time to define what 'content' truly means for you in this season. It could be exploring new hobbies, traveling solo, focusing on your career, or simply enjoying the quiet moments of self-discovery. And finally, truly embrace and trust that God’s timing is perfect. If He needs to 'hit you over the head' with clarity about a future spouse, believe me, He absolutely will in His perfect way. So yes, I'm genuinely so content in singleness. It's a beautiful, purposeful, and enriching time. And I'm excitedly anticipating how God's plan will unfold, whenever and however that 'hit me over the head' moment might come. What helps you find contentment in your current season of life?
