We need to talk
📚 Title and Author: Zodiac Academy
🌟 Genre:
💬 Short Summary: Twins Darcy and Tori find out they are long lost fae princesses and are thrown into the brutal world of the fae. They are to attend Zodiac Academy with the ruling celestial councillors heirs. The 4 heirs try to make the girls life miserable in order to prevent them from claiming the throne.
Key Point #1 : Lots of bullying in the first few books but I promise it gets better.
Key Point #2 : The best magic system! Characters have elemental powers depending on their Zodiac sign. But lucky ones get more than one element. They also have “orders” which defines what they can shift into. Anything from a vampire, to a rat, to even an incubus.
Key Point #3 : These authors are known as the twisted sisters for a reason! They will make you gasp, laugh, cry, and everything in between. The characters they write have such strong and unique personalities. There is nothing cookie cutter about these books.
Bonus: there is a prequel and sequel series that I definitely recommend if you like reverse harem. There are no spoilers so can be read in any order but I definitely recommend reading in chronological order. Characters from all of series make cameos.

Okay, let's talk about the Zodiac Academy series! I know it's been getting a ton of buzz lately, and if you're like me, you might be wondering if it lives up to the hype. Trust me, it absolutely does, but there are a few things you should know before diving in, especially regarding the reading order and what to expect from this intense fae world. First off, when I started reading, I was a little thrown off by the initial bullying in the first few books. It's pretty brutal, not gonna lie. But honestly, if you push through, it gets so much better. The character development is phenomenal, and you really see the twins, Darcy and Tory, grow into their own as they navigate the treacherous world of Solaria. The initial struggles actually make their triumphs and relationships later on so much more impactful. It's a journey, not a simple fairytale, and that's what makes it so gripping. Now, let's talk about the magic system – it's truly one of the best I've encountered in fantasy! Imagine having elemental powers tied to your Zodiac sign, but then some lucky fae get even more. And the 'orders'? That's where things get really fascinating. Fae can shift into all sorts of creatures, from vampires to even incubi, and this adds such a rich layer to their society and the challenges they face. For those asking about 'alpha wolf Zodiac Academy,' while the specific term isn't always used, the concept of powerful shifters, including wolf-like creatures, definitely plays a significant role, especially as you explore the broader universe. You get to see different types of shifters and their unique abilities woven into the story, particularly in the spin-off series. Speaking of spin-offs, getting the reading order right for the Zodiac Academy universe is key to fully appreciating the story. The authors, Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti – often known as the 'twisted sisters' – have created an expansive world that extends beyond the main series. They are truly masters of making you feel everything while reading. Their character depth is unmatched, and every twist and turn keeps you on the edge of your seat. Here’s my recommended chronological reading order to get the full experience: Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac (Prequel Series): This is set about five years before the main Zodiac Academy series. You get to meet characters like Elsie and Ryder, and understand some of the foundational lore of Solaria. Books like "Dark Fae" and "Vicious Fae" are crucial here. Reading this first really enriches your understanding of the world and characters you'll encounter later. Zodiac Academy (Main Series): This is where you follow Darcy and Tory Vega. Start with "Zodiac Academy: The Awakening" and continue through the main saga. This is the heart of the story, focusing on the fae princesses and their battle for the throne against the celestial council heirs. Darkmore Penitentiary (Sequel Series): Set about five years after Zodiac Academy, this series delves into new adventures with characters you might recognize, like the ones from "Caged Wolf" and "Feral Wolf." It expands the universe even further and ties up some lingering plot threads while introducing new ones. Reading them in this order makes all the cameos and interconnected storylines so much more rewarding. You see the bigger picture unfold seamlessly. If you're looking for a series that combines dark academia, powerful fae, elemental magic, and an emotional rollercoaster, Zodiac Academy and its companion series are a must-read. Don't miss out on this incredible journey!
