Become a 5am Gym Girly!🏋🏻‍♀️🤍

Hey girlies! Here are a few tips for getting in those early morning gym sessions🌅

1️⃣ Evening Hydration Plan: hydrate well before bed by drinking a glass of water. Keep a water bottle on your nightstand to sip on if you wake up during the night or first thing in the morning. Staying hydrated overnight prepares your body for the early wake-up call and jumpstarts your metabolism.

2️⃣ Pre-Workout Nutrition Strategy: plan a light, easily digestible snack to eat about 30-60 mins before your workout. Opt for something like a banana, a protein shake, or even pre workout itself. This provides a boost of energy without weighing you down!

3️⃣ Morning Accountability Buddy: team up with a friend or join a workout group that meets early in the morning. My gym has classes you can take but I know not every gym has that accessible. Having someone expecting you at the gym not only holds you accountable but also makes the early wake-up call more enjoyable and motivating. For me, I try to bring my boyfriend as much as I can (even though he prefers night workouts🙄 lol) and it gives us something to look forward to since we spend time together first thing in the morning!

4️⃣ Morning Ritual: create a morning routine that sets a positive tone for the day. This could include listening to uplifting music or a motivational podcast while you prepare for your workout, spending a few minutes praying, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with some coffee.

5️⃣ Cold Shower/Splash: Incorporate a cold shower or even just a cold splash of water into your morning routine. This not only wakes you up physically but also boosts circulation and increases alertness. It is a refreshing way to start your day!!

... Read moreHey gorgeous! So, you've heard about the magic of the 5 AM gym, right? It sounds intimidating, but trust me, it’s one of the best habits I’ve ever built. My original post gave you some solid tips, but I want to dive even deeper into why this routine works for me and how you can truly make it stick, especially if the idea of "waking up at 4am" (like I sometimes aim for!) seems impossible right now. Unlocking the "Why": Major Benefits of My 5 AM Routine Beyond just getting your workout in, becoming a "5AM gym girly" offers so many incredible perks that keep me consistent. First, the peace and quiet. The gym is less crowded, and my home is calm – perfect for uninterrupted focus. This early start also gives me a huge mental advantage; I feel accomplished before most people even hit snooze. It truly sets a positive, energetic tone for the whole day. I’ve noticed a significant boost in my overall energy levels and mental clarity, which helps me tackle work and daily tasks with more ease. Plus, let's be real, it cuts down on those evening excuses. When I get my workout done first thing, there's no chance of feeling too tired after work or getting sidetracked by other plans. It’s done, and I feel amazing! My Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming a 5 AM Gym Girly (Without the Shock!) If "waking up at 5 am every day" feels like a huge leap, don't worry, I totally get it. I didn't just magically become a morning person! Here’s how I eased into it: Gradual Adjustment: Don’t go from 8 AM to 5 AM overnight. Try shifting your wake-up time by just 15 minutes every few days. This makes it much less jarring for your body. Prioritize Sleep: This is non-negotiable. If you want to wake up early, you have to go to bed early. I aim for 7-8 hours. My sleep sanctuary is dark, cool, and quiet. Creating a relaxing wind-down routine helps immensely. Pre-Prep Everything: This is a game-changer. The night before, I lay out my gym clothes (even my sneakers – just like in that image of feet on the pavement at 4:58 AM!), pack my gym bag, and have my water bottle filled and ready by my bed for that "early morning hydration" I mentioned. Knowing everything is set removes any friction or excuses when the alarm goes off. The "No Snooze" Rule: This one is tough, but effective. As soon as my alarm rings, I force myself to sit up or even stand. Sometimes, I even place my alarm across the room so I have to get out of bed to turn it off. This small act of discipline kickstarts my morning. Immediate Hydration: Before I even think about coffee, I down a big glass of water. This instantly helps wake up my body and kickstarts my metabolism, which is crucial for those pre-workout moments. Beyond the Workout: My Morning Ritual for a Great Day Once the workout is done, my routine continues to set me up for success. I make sure to have a quick, protein-rich post-gym snack or breakfast to refuel. Sometimes, after my workout, I’ll brave a quick "cold shower" – it's surprisingly invigorating and helps with recovery! Then, I take a few minutes for myself, maybe to journal or just enjoy a quiet cup of coffee before the day truly begins. This isn't just about the gym; it's about owning your mornings and feeling empowered. Remember, consistency is key, but also listen to your body. Some days you might need an extra hour of sleep, and that’s perfectly okay. It's a journey, not a race, to become your best 5 AM self!
