come to Cafe Dear Leon with us!☕️🥐

one of our favorite things to do on a nice morning is walk to cafe dear leon!

it’s a super small place that only lets 6 people and 1 dog inside at a time so there’s normally a super long line! since i love their food and coffee, i made it a rule for myself that i’m not waiting in a line that’s more than 10 people☝🏼

their ham and cheese croissant is ALWAYS my go-to along with their bagels! sometimes they’ll have homemade banana pudding in the afternoon and that one is totally worth the wait! even thinking about it now makes my mouth water!

... Read moreIf you're anything like me, finding that perfect local cafe is a true joy, and I'm so excited to share why Cafe Dear Leon in Baltimore has completely captured my heart. It’s more than just a coffee shop; it’s a charming, intimate spot that feels like a hidden gem, despite its growing popularity. Nestled in a red brick building, as you might glimpse from the exterior photos, Cafe Dear Leon instantly greets you with its cozy, welcoming vibe. What truly sets this place apart for me, besides the incredible food, is the experience. Yes, it's a small place, typically allowing just a handful of guests inside at a time, which often means a line. But trust me, it’s a line worth joining, especially if you plan your visit strategically during off-peak hours! Early mornings on weekdays are usually your best bet for a quicker entry. Now, let's talk about the stars of their menu, starting with the legendary crab dip bagel. While my go-to is often the perfectly flaky ham and cheese croissant – seriously, the melted cheese and savory ham inside are pure perfection – the crab dip bagel is a Baltimore icon you absolutely must try. It’s not just any bagel; it’s generously topped with a rich, creamy crab dip that’s bursting with local flavor. It’s a unique savory breakfast or lunch item that truly reflects the spirit of Baltimore’s culinary scene and is unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere. Beyond these standout items, the 'Leon Bakery' aspect of Cafe Dear Leon shines through in their incredible array of fresh pastries. Just looking at the display counter, you'll see a tempting selection: from classic croissants (both sweet and savory), to delightful cookies, and various soft, warm buns. I've heard wonderful things about their seasonal scone offerings too! Each visit feels like a new discovery. And for those with a sweet tooth, if you happen to catch their homemade banana pudding on the menu, grab it! It’s a rare treat that’s unbelievably good and often sells out fast. To wash it all down, their coffee selection is top-notch. While a classic latte or americano is always satisfying, their specialty drinks are fantastic. I recently tried their 'chai fig fog' which was a delightful blend of comforting spices and subtle sweetness – a perfect pick-me-up. Plus, for all my fellow dog parents out there, Cafe Dear Leon is incredibly welcoming to our furry friends. My dog, Frankie, gives it his enthusiastic approval, making it a perfect stop during our morning walks. So, whether you're craving a unique savory breakfast, a sweet pastry, or just a fantastic cup of coffee in a charming setting, Cafe Dear Leon truly delivers a memorable experience. It’s a place that keeps me coming back, time and time again.
