... Read moreSo, you saw my post about being a country artist, and yes, it's true! I wanted to dive a little deeper into what this wild journey is really like here in Nashville. It's not always glamorous, but it's always an adventure, and honestly, I wouldn't trade it for anything.
One of the biggest parts of my life here revolves around songwriting. You hear about Nashville being a '10-year town,' and a lot of that is spent honing your craft, sitting in writers' rooms, and pouring your heart out into lyrics. I spend countless hours with my acoustic guitar, sometimes a keyboard, just trying to capture a feeling or a story that resonates. It's truly a collaborative city; I've been lucky enough to participate in so many incredible writers' rounds, where we share new songs with each other and a live audience. It’s a fantastic way to connect with the music community, get feedback, and sometimes even find new co-writers.
Then there's the performing! There’s nothing quite like stepping onto a stage, microphone in hand, and seeing people connect with your music. Whether it’s a small, intimate venue with just blue stage lighting or a buzzing show like at WHISKEY JAM, every performance feels like a milestone. I still get a thrill playing my songs. It's where all the hard work in the studio and behind the scenes really comes to life. You might even catch me wearing my favorite cowboy hat for good luck, especially for outdoor gigs! The energy from the crowd, whether it's a few dozen or a few hundred, is what truly fuels this passion.
Beyond the music itself, there's the business side – and let me tell you, it's a lot more than just singing! I’ve had some amazing experiences, like doing radio interviews in a studio – it’s surreal to think my voice is going out to so many listeners! And when I saw my image on a large digital billboard in the city, promoting a new track, I nearly fell over! Those moments, like seeing your name recognized, make all the late nights, early mornings, and constant grind worth it. It’s all part of building a career as a female country artist in a city full of incredible talent.
It's a vibrant scene for women in country music right now, and it's inspiring to be a part of it. There's a real sense of community among us, where we're all rooting for each other, pushing boundaries, and keeping the spirit of country music alive while also making it our own. We're constantly evolving, and I'm excited to see where country music goes in the coming years. If you're dreaming of making music, especially as a singer-songwriter, just know it takes grit, passion, and a whole lot of love for what you do. Keep creating, keep sharing, and keep believing in your unique sound. The journey is the reward, and I'm so grateful to share a glimpse of it with you all.
You are a legend and I’m so proud of you and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you.
