... Read morePreparing for my Disney College Program has me buzzing with excitement, and one of the first things I started was my ultimate DCP bucket list! It's not just about what you do in the parks, but all the incredible cast member experiences you'll have along the way. Since I'm already counting down the days to Magic Kingdom, let's dive into some must-dos for making the most of your magical adventure!
First off, Magic Kingdom holds a special place in my heart, and it's definitely going to be a central part of my bucket list. Beyond catching the 'Happily Ever After' fireworks from different spots, I'm aiming to experience the 'Festival of Fantasy' parade up close, maybe even from a unique Cast Member perspective if I'm lucky! Of course, indulging in classic snacks like a Dole Whip float and a churro from Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is non-negotiable. I also want to make sure I ride Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain multiple times – those never get old! Don't forget to take those iconic castle photos, just like the ones I've seen with other CPs! Sometimes, it's just about taking a moment to sit in Fantasyland and soak in the atmosphere, almost like going 'FANTASYLAND OFFLINE' and truly being present.
But the magic doesn't stop there! My bucket list extends to all the parks. For Animal Kingdom, my top priorities include spotting all the animals on Kilimanjaro Safaris and absolutely experiencing Avatar Flight of Passage in Pandora. I've heard the food here is amazing too, so trying some unique quick-service spots is a must. Over at Hollywood Studios, I'm dreaming of exploring Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, riding Tower of Terror (my all-time favorite!), and catching the 'Fantasmic!' show. And who could forget Epcot? Eating and drinking around the World Showcase during one of the amazing festivals, like Food & Wine or Flower & Garden, is high on my list.
Beyond the attractions, the 'Your DCP Details' part of my bucket list is all about the unique Cast Member life. I want to:
Connect with my roommates and fellow CPs: Building those lifelong friendships is a huge part of the experience.
Explore different roles: If opportunities arise, I'd love to shadow or learn about other areas of the resort.
Take advantage of Cast Member perks: Discounts on merchandise and food, and maybe even early park entry days!
Discover Orlando: While Disney is amazing, I want to explore the surrounding area too, finding local gems.
Document everything: The OCR mentioned a "30 day photo challenge," and I love that idea! I plan to capture moments from my arrival day, my favorite ride, my work location, and all those little details that make the DCP so special.
My advice for anyone planning their DCP bucket list? Be flexible! Things won't always go as planned, but that's part of the adventure. Prioritize experiences that are unique to the program, like Cast Member events, and don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Most importantly, remember to enjoy every single magical moment. It's a once-in-a-lifetime journey!
