Crochet Magnet Tutorial
Hi! I’ve been asked to share how to make these. This is a very basic tutorial, the second picture has the written instructions. I’m not a pattern writer so please forgive me! Hope this helps!
Creating crochet magnets is a fun and creative way to personalize your home or gift unique handmade items. The tutorial involves making two crochet panels, each with 11 rows and 10 stitches per row, using chain stitches (CH) and half double crochet stitches (Hhst) on a 3.5 mm hook. Matching both sides symmetrically ensures a neat finish when joined. Once the panels are completed, they are stitched together, leaving one side open to insert a magnet securely inside. Careful sewing along the edges creates a tidy seam, and the use of high-quality polyester yarn ensures durability and vibrant color retention. To firmly attach the magnet, adhesives like E6000 glue can be used for extra strength, but caution is advised as this product is not suitable for children. The addition of small decorative buttons, approximately 0.75 inches in diameter, can enhance the aesthetic appeal of your magnets. These handmade crochet magnets make excellent gifts and can brighten up refrigerators, lockers, or any magnetic surface. For beginners, it is recommended to practice basic crochet stitches before starting this project. Watching video tutorials or referring to step-by-step photo guides can also enhance understanding. Using standard crochet tools such as Susan Bates hooks and polyester yarns specified in the tutorial will help achieve the best results. Overall, this crochet magnet project is an excellent introduction to combining crafting with functional decor, providing a satisfying and enjoyable experience for crafters of all skill levels.
