Curly Haircare

It took me a while to figure out the perfect products for my naturally curly hair! There are so many options to choose from, but not all of them are the same. 🙃 Some products can be pricy, but they last a long time, and your hair will be healthy!

1. I wash my hair with Redeken Acidic Bonding Curls Shampoo and Conditioner.

💰Price: $33 per bottle from Ulta or Amazon. I didn't pay that price. I'm a licensed hairstylist, so I purchased it for $30. Ask your hairstylist if they sell this!

👍Pros: Reduces Frizz, repair curl strength, restores curl pattern, (perfect for if you bleach your hair), silicone and sulfate free, (curls won't be weighed down over time like other silicone products.), leaves hair feeling soft!

🤔Cons: The Cost

2. Use a T-shirt to dry your Hair! This will help reduce frizz and be gentle on hair.

3. Spilt hair in two sections. I split from top of the crown to nape of my neck and other half top of crown to forehead. After brushing each section I rake through each section with Rizzos detangle and refresh spray (I changed the lid) and defining cream!

💰Price: 20$ per bottle available at Target or Ulta

👍Pros: detangle hair easily, controls frizz, hair feels hydrated, smells good, and holds curls while still feeling soft.

4. Apply Shea Moisture Frizz-Free Curl Mousse and scrunch with T-Shirt. After scrunching I use the plop method to let my hair dry a bit and helps set my curls.

💰Price: $10.99 available at Target

👍Pros: won't weigh down hair, holds curls, no frizz, leaves hair feeling soft

5. Final Step use a diffuser to blow-dry hair low speed medium heat. Then your ready to go!! ☺️🙌🏼

You can feel free to add a hair oil to the ends of need be.

Begin with a sulfate and silicone-free shampoo like Redken Acidic Bonding Curls Shampoo. This shampoo works wonders by strengthening and restoring your curls, making it ideal for those with color-treated or bleached hair. Pair it with a nourishing conditioner to lock in moisture and reduce frizz. To enhance your haircare routine, consider using a T-shirt instead of a towel for drying your curls. This technique minimizes frizz and helps maintain your curl definition. For detangling, a refreshing spray like Rizos Detangle and Refresh can effectively ease knots without the harshness of traditional brushes. Utilizing products such as Shea Moisture Frizz-Free Curl Mousse will keep your curls voluminous yet soft, ensuring they don’t feel weighed down. The plopping method, where you scrunch your curls in a T-shirt, can set your curls beautifully when followed by a low-speed blow-dry using a diffuser. Don't forget to add a touch of hair oil to the ends for additional hydration. By following these steps and using the right products, you can embrace your natural curls with confidence, ensuring they look healthy and chic. Whether you're just beginning your curly hair journey or looking for effective maintenance tips, these suggestions will help you achieve your hair goals.
