Getting through another week… it’s been one thing after another.

Thanksgiving break the kids have severe colds. Spring break we are all fighting Covid. Now… for Easter break my youngest is fighting Croup.

I really need these illnesses to go away and stay away…

When my kids face severe colds or illnesses like Covid and Croup, capturing my thoughts and daily experiences in a journal helps me process the stress and hold onto moments of gratitude. I've found that pairing journaling with small comforting rituals, like cozy blankets, a hot cup of coffee, and creative supplies such as stickers and washi tape, adds a gentle boost of joy to tough days. In fact, the image text showing phrases like "happiness is a cosy blanket and a good cup of coffee" resonates deeply with my experience. Creating a calming environment during illness seasons is crucial. The simple ritual of wrapping oneself in a blanket or savoring a warm drink can offer much-needed comfort to both kids and parents. I highly recommend joining online journaling communities or forums where you can share your journey and gain inspiration from others facing similar challenges. The hashtags #journal, #journalingcommunity, and #journalinspo are great starting points. Through this shared connection, I have received encouragement and ideas that make the health struggles feel a little less isolating. Taking time to document the ups and downs reminds me that illness is temporary and that caring for ourselves with kindness and creativity is essential. Whether it’s using colorful stickers, washi tapes, or simply writing down your feelings, journaling transforms chaos into clarity and supports emotional healing during the toughest seasons.
