I love booking a spontaneous vacation, so when my friend sent me an email with cheap flights to Paris, I jumped!
We decided to do a long weekend, flying out Wednesday afternoon and coming back home on Monday night. We scheduled on a US bank holiday, so I only used 2 days off work. That gave us all day Thursday -Sunday to explore the city.
Airlines often have deals to Europe in Jan-March because it’s the off season. Hotels will also be less expensive, making it the perfect time for a trip that won’t break the bank!
I loved Paris in winter. We still got some sunshine, and we just wore cozy jackets and dressed for the weather.
We decided our vibe for the trip would be ✨ girly, cozy winter in the city✨ which basically means that we prioritized shopping and finding cozy cafes to sit and people watch, rather than trying to be a tourist and see all the sights. Museums were another awesome way to spend a day when you want to stay warm.
We love fashion and dedicated a whole day to shopping at a few vintage and secondhand shops. The stores were crazy (because it was saturday) but we both picked up some really awesome pieces.
We also spent a rainy afternoon wandering through #galerieslafayette - you could easily spend a whole day in there! It’s a department store that is the size of a city block.
If you’ve been avoiding Paris because you heard it was crowded or expensive, try doing a short trip this way! I got a great first taste of the city. I’m so glad I checked it off the #bucketlist and I definitely want to go back again for another shopping trip- but I’m going to need a sugar daddy’s credit card to buy everything I want🙈🛍️💳
