Sunday Brunch in Paris 🥐

If you’re planning a trip to Paris, sunday brunch is something you have to do!

When you’re researching things to do, you will immediately notice that sunday brunch is a big deal. Most restaurants and hotels will advertise their amazing sunday spreads, and it can be overwhelming to choose where to go. Typically, brunch is a set menu or buffet style and therefore run differently than a typical dinner service.

After a lot of research I found Brasserie Thoumieux. Its a cozy spot connected to a hotel, and is definitely more of a traditional French style. The waitstaff was extremely polite and well dressed, and I was a little nervous about the dress code! Once we arrived, I felt better because there was a mix of French families and tourists, and people were dressed nicely but not too formally.

The set menu included hot chocolate & fruit juice, and we started with the most insane selection of fresh baked breads. Each person got a their own selection of 4 - a piece of baguette, croissant, chocolate croissant, and brioche. It was the most decadent and delicious start to the meal. There was no way we were going to be able to eat all of the bread - but I wasn’t sure if it was proper to take the bread home. In hindsight, I think it would have been ok to ask to takeaway… let me know if you have been brave enough to request that in Paris!

For the main course, I got the eggs benedict with smoked salmon. Of course, it was delicious! They also brought us an absolute mountain of *heavenly* fries. By the time our dessert course arrived, I was so full! The lemon meringue was really good, I didn’t eat much of the waffle because honestly it was a little plain, I thought everything else was better.

I know my perspective on Paris is pretty limited as an American, who has only been there once. But we loved this brunch, so I highly recommend! It’s also in a great location, near the Eiffel tower on the left bank. After we ate, we walked off our meal on a long afternoon shopping trip, to the designer stores along Av Montaigne and Champs-Elysees (Dior, Chanel, and more!
