Glow up hacks that saved me!
🧴Skincare-For skincare what u have found best for my own skin is just to moisturize it! I tend to get acne on my forehead from stress so moisturizing the areas helps get rid of it! I also use a milk cleanser which works great and leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh!
🎀Hair-
For my hair my goal is to grow it out incase you don't know I got a really short short haircut in December and have been trying to grow it out and thankfully it's past my shoulder a bit so we're getting there! I've been using L'Oréal shampoo and it's been amazing! I shampoo twice and shampoo my ends cause they tend to get oily as well. For conditioner I use a random one but some days l use a hair mask that has been AMAZING it's so so good so on those days I don't condition! I also have been showering in cold water and it's definitely been helping my hair feel more soft and less heavy. I do hair growth oils and some nights soak my hair and the next morning wash it off!
💄Makeup-
For makeup I use products that are considered 'cheap'. I love wet n wild and elf! For my makeup routine I found that not moisturizing my face makes my makeup so cakeyyyy, I use a primer and moisturizer then I go in with the maybeline foundation and my other foundations then I use my concealer to shape my eyebrows with a spoolie.
I use setting powder then do some highlights on the corner of my eyes and nose and some light blush! I use eyeliner a lot and do mascara or some days I do fake lashes! My lip combo is usual brown towns and colors like that and I use gloss!
🍦Scents-
I use lots and lots of vanilla perfume and lotions! For me it's soft and not that strong and is just mwuah. If I want to go for a more stronger scent I use strawberry pound cake or some bath and body works perfume!
I didn't add this to the post but honestly? Mindset matters so so much. If your no confident with yourself it shows. I reccomend taking a social media break for a week and see the difference, cut the people who are holding you down and love yourself and more importantly if your like me forgive yourself, it's okay to get help. Enjoy life to the fullest!
Through my own glow up journey, I've realized that simple, consistent habits make a huge difference. For skincare, hydration is key—especially since acne can be stress-induced. Moisturizing regularly with rich but gentle creams like Nivea Cocoa Butter or Palmer's Coconut Balm nourishes the skin deeply. I also swear by milk cleansers, which cleanse without stripping natural oils, leaving my face soft and fresh. When it comes to hair, growing out a short cut can feel challenging, but using nourishing products helps. I shampoo twice to thoroughly cleanse, focusing on oily ends but maintaining scalp moisture with L'Oréal’s cocoa butter-infused shampoos. Occasionally replacing conditioner with a hair mask keeps my hair hydrated and healthy without weighing it down. Also, switching to cold water rinses really helped reduce frizz and added shine, which surprised me. Using hair growth oils with natural ingredients like rosemary or sesame before bed has promoted softness and strength over time. Makeup feels so much better when the skin is prepped well. I've learned that working with drugstore brands like Wet n Wild and e.l.f offers great value while achieving a natural look. Moisturizer and primer are non-negotiable; skipping them makes makeup cakey and uncomfortable. I use a lightweight foundation like Maybelline’s Photofocus, followed by concealer not just on spots but also to define brows with a spoolie. Setting powder locks everything in place, and little touches like highlighting inner eye corners, nose bridge, and adding light blush brighten up my face. Brown-toned lips with a gloss finish feel effortless and polished. Scents have become part of my self-care ritual too. The soft warmth of vanilla-scented lotions and perfumes creates a comforting vibe I love. For when I want something bolder, Bath & Body Works' Strawberry Pound Cake adds a sweet note that feels joyous. Scents can subtly boost confidence and mood throughout the day. Lastly, mindset plays a profound role in any glow up. Confidence shines through in how you carry yourself, and social media breaks can help reset inner peace. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, practice self-love, and don’t hesitate to seek help if needed. Forgiving yourself for imperfections is freeing and essential for genuine growth. These tried and true hacks from my personal experience prove that a glow up is much more than just external changes—it’s about nurturing your skin, hair, creativity, and most importantly, your mindset.
