Ranch house tour!

I still have lots of decorating to do, but our house is slowly coming together!

The one thing I hate about moving to a new house is you don’t realize just how much stuff you have until your are packing and unpacking endless boxes😂 we’ve been here for a month now and I’ve still got some boxes I need to unpack 🫣

Anyways, I’m super excited to see how it looks once I’m done!

Like many of you, when I first started my new house tour, I was honestly overwhelmed with the sheer amount of boxes and the thought of still have lots of decorating to do. But slowly, bit by bit, it's coming together, and I'm really getting into the swing of perfecting my ranch house interior design. One of the biggest challenges I've faced, and I'm sure many can relate, is figuring out where to start with decor when you’re literally living among stacks of boxes. My advice? Don't rush it! I've found focusing on foundational pieces first makes a huge difference. For a ranch-style home, think about bringing in natural materials. Solid wood furniture, maybe a leather accent chair, or even a stone fireplace can immediately ground the space and set that desired rustic tone. I’m personally hunting for the perfect reclaimed wood coffee table right now! When it comes to color palettes, I'm leaning heavily into warm, earthy tones – think creamy whites, sage greens, deep browns, and a touch of terracotta. These colors not only create a cozy atmosphere but also beautifully complement the natural light in a ranch house. It’s amazing how a fresh coat of paint or even just a few carefully chosen throw pillows can start to transform a room before all the major furniture is even in place. For anyone else embarking on their own ranch house interior design project, don't forget the power of textiles! Adding a large, patterned rug can define a living area and introduce textures that feel authentic to the western aesthetic. Think wool, jute, or even a cowhide rug for that extra touch. Layering different textures with blankets and cushions instantly adds warmth and makes the space feel more lived-in and inviting, which is exactly the vibe I’m going for in my new house. And finally, remember that decorating is a marathon, not a sprint. My house is far from finished, and I’m embracing the process. It's about finding pieces you love, incorporating elements that tell your story, and letting your home evolve naturally. It's truly exciting to see it all coming together step by step, and I can't wait to share more updates on my ranch house interior design journey as I continue to unpack and add those finishing touches!
