📍 Annabelle’s Book Club (Studio City, CA aka Los Angeles area)

📖 opened by Annabelle when she was 16 (!!!), she was inspired to open a YA focused bookstore when not finding any during her research, with the support of her family.

💖 the store, the merch, and everything is so PINK and adorable

🛍️ I walked away with a book of her recommendation wall, a sticker, and a tshirt (but now I’m wishing I had gotten more shirts 🤣)

… and I got to meet Annabelle!!! She’s so kind and thoughtful, it was so fun to chat with her about books and to make some content together - her passion for books and the community is so apparent - I can’t even imagine being this established at that age! Seriously such an impressive, kind human. 🤯 (me at 30 finally figuring it out)

... Read moreI still can't stop thinking about my recent visit to Annabelle's Book Club in Studio City, LA! It's truly a gem that every book lover, especially those into YA, needs to experience. Beyond just being a bookstore, it's a carefully curated haven that feels both trendy and incredibly welcoming. Stepping inside, the 'pink and adorable' vibe isn't just a surface-level thing; it's woven into the entire atmosphere. Imagine bright, inviting spaces with pristine white bookshelves stretching up to the ceiling, complete with a charming rolling ladder – perfect for finding those hidden literary treasures. The large spherical light fixtures add a modern yet cozy glow, making every corner feel Instagram-worthy. It’s clear Annabelle has poured so much thought into creating a space that feels like a dream for readers. What truly sets this place apart is its dedication to Young Adult literature. Annabelle herself, opening this at just 16, clearly knows what the YA community craves. You'll find an incredible selection ranging from fantasy epics and heartwarming contemporary reads to thought-provoking diverse voices that are shaping the genre. It's not just popular titles; it's a carefully chosen collection that reflects current trends and timeless favorites, making it easy to discover your next obsession. I spent ages just browsing, picking up books I hadn't even heard of, all thanks to the thoughtful curation. And let's talk about the merch! It's not your typical bookstore fare. I was immediately drawn to the witty and unique items. Remember that blue shopping bag? It features a hilarious pop art illustration of a crying woman saying, "I... I SPENT IT ALL ON BOOKS!". It perfectly captures the joy (and slight financial peril!) of being a bookworm. Then there's the white t-shirt with comic-style art of two women in a car, proclaiming, "GET IN, LOSER! WE'RE GOING TO BOOK CLUB!". These aren't just souvenirs; they're conversation starters that truly resonate with the bookish community. I’m already planning my next trip specifically to grab more of their amazing apparel. One of the highlights was exploring the "ANNABELLES FAVORITES" wall. Seeing books suspended on gold hooks, each personally recommended, felt incredibly special. It’s like getting a curated list from a knowledgeable friend, rather than just a generic bestseller display. It made choosing a book feel much more personal and exciting. When I got to chat with Annabelle, her passion for these books and for fostering a reading community just shone through. It's inspiring to see someone so dedicated at such a young age. If you're planning a visit to the Los Angeles area, specifically Studio City, definitely plan some time for Annabelle's. It’s easily accessible and offers a refreshing break from the usual LA hustle. While I didn't face parking issues on my visit, scouting for street parking or nearby lots is always a good idea, especially on weekends. It's more than just a place to buy books; it’s an experience, a community hub, and a testament to the power of a young entrepreneur's vision. Don't just add it to your travel list; make it a priority!
