🌿 **Gardening Today: Refresh My Window Sill with me and my newest Beautiful Blooms!** 🌿
Today, let's breathe new life into our front window sill with some comforting gardening! 🌸 First, we need to clear out the old weeds (there were a lot). Proper disposal is critical to ensuring our new plants thrive. Gather and compost or dispose of those weeds responsibly to prevent future growth.
Next, let's introduce our new floral beauts: two Bacopa Megacopa whites and two Orange Lotus Red Embers. 🌼🌺
I am hoping that when they are grown. The Bacopa Megacopa whites will bring a classy touch with their delicate blooms. At the same time, the Orange Lotus Red Embers will add a vibrant splash of color, and they will hopefully hang off the sides to give it a romantic look!!!
My plan is
1. **Clear the area:** Remove any old weeds and debris.
2. **Prepare the soil:** Loosen it up and mix in some fresh compost.
3. **Plant with care:** I gently placed my Bacopa Megacopa whites and Orange Lotus Red Embers into the soil.
4. **Water wisely:** Give your new plants a good drink to help them settle in!
In no time, my window sill will be a beautiful display of nature’s colors, making my home even more green instead of boring dirt.
At the store, I also picked up some tomatoes, peppers, and lemon cucumbers, which I had never seen before yesterday! And also will be planting this week if you wanna see my little garden journey!
... Read moreSo, you've seen my window sill transformation with those lovely Bacopa Megacopa whites! Now that they're nestled in their new home, I wanted to share a bit more about how I plan to keep them thriving and what I've learned about these charming plants. When I picked up my Bacopa, the label (which you might have spotted in one of my photos!) clearly stated 'FULL SUN' and 'Pollinator Friendly.' This was super helpful for me!
For anyone else starting with Bacopa Megacopa, here’s my take on keeping them happy. They really do love sunshine, so make sure your window sill gets at least 6 hours of direct sun daily. As for watering, I've found they prefer consistently moist soil, especially in warmer weather, but they don't like to sit in soggy conditions. I usually check the soil with my finger – if the top inch feels dry, it's time for a drink. I also plan to give them a diluted liquid feed every couple of weeks during their peak blooming season to encourage those beautiful white flowers we all love.
The 'Pollinator Friendly' aspect is a huge bonus for me! It means my window box isn't just pretty to look at, but it's also contributing to local biodiversity by attracting bees and butterflies. It's such a joy to watch them flit around the delicate blooms. If you're looking to make your garden or even just a small potted area more wildlife-friendly, Bacopa is definitely a plant to consider.
Speaking of other plants, I paired my Bacopa with the vibrant Orange Lotus Red Embers. What I love about this combination is the contrast: the Bacopa spills gently, softening the edges, while the Lotus adds that pop of fiery color and a unique trailing texture. When planning your own window box, think about combining plants with different growth habits – some that spill down, some that stand tall (a 'thriller'), and some that fill the middle (a 'filler'). This creates a really dynamic and full look. For example, a small upright plant for height, Bacopa as a beautiful filler, and the Lotus Red Embers as a stunning spiller. This simple rule can make any container garden look professionally designed!
Of course, not every plant journey is perfectly smooth! If you notice your Bacopa isn’t blooming as much, it might need more sun or a bit of plant food. Yellowing leaves could indicate overwatering or a nutrient deficiency. And keep an eye out for common pests like aphids; a gentle spray of soapy water often does the trick if you catch them early. It’s all part of the learning curve, and honestly, that’s what makes gardening so rewarding – figuring out what your plants need and seeing them respond. My little window sill project has definitely sparked my enthusiasm, and I'm so excited about planting those tomatoes, peppers, and lemon cucumbers I picked up next. It's amazing how refreshing just a small part of your home with plants can brighten your whole day. I hope my experience gives you some inspiration to get your hands dirty!
