「和歌山で川遊びしたいけど、人が多い場所はちょっと…」って時に助かったのが古座川の穴場感。私も“近くの川遊び”で探していて、結果ここは大当たりでした。透明すぎて川底まで見えるので、子どもが「魚いる！エビも！」ってテンション上がりっぱなし。網がなくても目で追えるくらいで、自然観察デビューにもぴったりでした。 行く前に知っておくと安心なポイントをまとめます。 ・服装と持ち物：川の水は想像以上に冷たいので、ラッシュガード＋マリンシューズは必須。日陰が少ない場所もあるので帽子と日焼け止め、休憩用にレジャーシートがあると楽でした。濡れたもの用に大きめの袋、替えのタオルもあると安心（ここはバスタオル付きなのが神…）。 ・安全対策：浅いところが多いとはいえ、急に深くなる場所や流れが出るところもありました。子どもはライフジャケット推奨。現地でレンタルがあるので「持ってない！」でも詰みません。水に入る前に“遊ぶ範囲”を親子で決めておくと迷子防止にも。 ・時期の目安：6月の川遊びは暑すぎず気持ちいい反面、水温は低め。長時間入りっぱなしだと冷えるので、こまめに上がって休憩→また入る、のリズムが良かったです。真夏は混む日もあるので早め到着が安心。 ・設備が助かる：ピカピカのシャワー、更衣室、ドライヤーやシャンプー類があると、帰りの車が快適さ段違い。子連れだと「帰りに砂だらけ問題」が起きがちなので、ここは本当にありがたかったです。 ・マナー：この透明度は“人が少ないから保たれている”と聞いて納得。ゴミは必ず持ち帰り、石をひっくり返したら戻す、捕まえた生き物は観察したら逃がす…を徹底すると、ずっと綺麗な川で遊べます。 和歌山のお出かけスポットで「川が綺麗」「子どもが喜ぶ」「のんびりできる」を全部叶えたい人は、候補に入れて損なしです。
