1st Place - Battle of The Tribute Bands
My Foo Fighters tribute band, Foo Fight, came in first place in the South Florida Fair’s Annual Classic Rock Tribute Band Competition on January 31, 2026.🥇😭
I’m still in disbelief and I’m not sure of the right things to say so I’m going to try. We treated this like any other gig. We competed against all of our friends and peers. To us, we got to play with our friends in their cool bands AND have funnel cake too? Sounds like we already won!
I can’t lie and say that it doesn’t feel good to be recognized for what we do though. If you’ve ever been to one of our shows or even a Foo Fighters show, you know it’s real, raw, rock n’ roll. The energy. The togetherness. The songs that mean something different to everyone. If you’re a Foo fan, you get it. We take the time to learn these songs the way the Foo Fighters do them live. We honor them and keep the music alive.
Winning this means so much to me. Sure, we know contests don’t matter or change anything, but dammit I’m going to enjoy this! I’m proud of myself and my bandmates/brothers, and couldn’t imagine doing this project with anyone else.❤️ We work hard and you all know, or maybe you don’t know, the mental rollercoasters creatives go through, so when you’re recognized…I guess I can’t help but see this as a reminder to keep going and to not give up on my dream.
If you know me, you know music is just who I am. I don’t know how to explain it. I couldn’t stop if I tried because then I’d stop being me.
Every band absolutely killed it, and thank you to the crew, production team, and all of you who came out to support us, especially in the coldest weather for South Florida!
