What to do when BORED!!!!!
These are some good ideas to do #ideaswithfriends #bff
Okay, let's be real, we've all been there. You're on a call with your best friend, you've talked about your day, gossiped a bit, and then... crickets. That awkward silence creeps in, and suddenly, you're both just scrolling through TikTok. But what if I told you that being on a call doesn't mean you have to be bored? My bestie and I have tried tons of things, and I’m spilling our secrets for epic virtual hangouts! First up, let’s talk about getting creative. Remember that 'Photoshoot' idea? You can totally do this virtually! Pick a fun theme – maybe 'retro glam' or 'cozy aesthetic' – and each of you can set up a little corner in your room, grab some props, and take turns being the 'photographer' by guiding each other on poses and angles. It’s hilarious, and you get some amazing screenshots to remember the fun! We also love turning cooking or crafting into a friendly competition during our calls. Instead of just making a 'candysalad' or 'slime' or even 'Bake some cookies' individually, gather your ingredients beforehand, then start together on video. Who can make the most epic candy salad? Whose slime is the stretchiest? Whose cookies look the most professional? You can even show off your 'Make bead bracelets' creations! It’s super engaging and you get delicious treats or cool crafts at the end. Gaming together is another absolute lifesaver. 'Play Roblox 00' is a classic, but don't limit yourselves! There are so many free online games you can play together while on a call. Think Pictionary-style games, virtual escape rooms, or even just exploring new online worlds in other multiplayer games. Screen sharing makes it easy for everyone to see the action and laugh along. And for those nights when you just want to chill, why not 'Watch a movie'? There are awesome browser extensions like Teleparty (formerly Netflix Party) that let you sync up a movie or show and chat in real-time. Grab your snacks, dim the lights, and it's almost like being in the same room. We recently watched a classic horror film using this, and screaming together virtually was so much fun! Beyond these, my friends and I have discovered a few more gems for when boredom strikes during calls. One of our favorites is a virtual board game or card game night. Many classic games have free online versions you can play simultaneously, like Uno, chess, or even classic card games. Another idea is to have a 'What If' scenario or deep talk session. Sometimes, just having a structured conversation can be really engaging. Use prompts like 'If you could travel anywhere right now, where would it be and why?' or 'What's one goal you're secretly working towards?' You learn so much about each other! You could also try to learn something new together. Find a short online tutorial – maybe drawing, a new dance move, or a simple magic trick – and try to follow it together. The hilarious attempts alone are worth it! Or, for some fashion fun, have a virtual fashion show or styling challenge. Each person can show off their favorite outfit, or you challenge each other to style an outfit based on a random theme, like 'first day of school' or 'space alien.' See? Being 'on call' with your friends doesn't have to mean being bored. With a little creativity and these ideas, you can turn any virtual hangout into a memorable and fun experience.
