1 Corinthians 15:58

Be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Every day brings its own set of challenges. Sometimes we make mistakes, sometimes we fall short, and sometimes we wonder if we are doing the right thing. But GOD never asked us to be perfect. HE asks us to remain faithful, steadfast, and willing to grow.

When we stumble, we can go to GOD in prayer and ask for forgiveness. Through HIS mercy and grace, we are given another opportunity to walk forward with a renewed heart. When we seek the guidance of the HOLY SPIRIT, GOD helps us see clearly what truly matters and what direction we should take.

Wisdom and discernment come when we humble ourselves before GOD and ask HIM to guide our steps. HE will help us recognize the paths that bring peace, purpose, and righteousness. Even when the road is difficult, remember that every effort made in faith is meaningful. Nothing done for the LORD is ever wasted.

Stay encouraged today. Keep trusting GOD. Keep learning from every experience. And continue moving forward with faith, knowing that GOD is shaping your journey and strengthening you along the way. Remain steadfast, remain faithful, and let your life abound in the good work GOD has placed before you.

... Read moreSteadfastness in faith is a journey, not a destination, and 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 offers such profound encouragement for every step. When I first truly meditated on these verses together, it was like a light bulb went off—especially during those times when I felt overwhelmed or questioned if my small acts of service or persistent prayer truly mattered. Verse 57, "But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ," is the perfect preface to verse 58. It reminds us that any ability we have to remain steadfast, to labor diligently, or to find peace amidst chaos, comes from God's grace and the victory already secured by Jesus. It's not about our own strength alone, but His power working through us. This understanding shifted my perspective from striving in my own might to leaning into His divine provision. Knowing that victory is already ours through Christ helps us face challenges not with dread, but with a quiet confidence. This victory then empowers the call in verse 58: "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." What does it truly mean to 'stand firm' or 'let nothing move you'? For me, it means holding onto biblical truths when doubts creep in, choosing patience over frustration in difficult situations, and continuing to spread kindness even when it feels unappreciated. It's about rootedness, like a tree with deep roots that can withstand strong winds. This isn't passive; it's an active choice to fix our gaze on God, remembering that "WE WALK BY Faith AND NOT BY sight" through life's uncertainties. And what about "abounding in the work of the Lord"? It's easy to think this only applies to grand missionary trips or pastoral duties. But I've learned it encompasses every aspect of our lives. It's in the unseen prayers for a friend, the patient love shown to family, the integrity in our daily work, or simply offering a genuine smile to a stranger. Every effort, big or small, done with a heart seeking to honor God, contributes to His kingdom. It’s about being faithful in the little things, knowing they accumulate into something beautiful and significant in God’s eyes. The most comforting part of these verses, for me, is the assurance that "your labor in the Lord is not in vain." In a world that often measures success by visible results or immediate gratification, this truth is a powerful anchor. There have been countless times I've poured my heart into something, only to see no immediate fruit or even face setbacks. But this scripture reminds me that God sees. He values every sacrifice, every act of love, every prayer, and every moment of perseverance. Our efforts, even the ones that feel overlooked or unsuccessful from a human perspective, are meaningful and impactful in God's eternal plan. It encourages me to keep going, trusting that His timing and His ways are perfect, and that no seed of faith sown is ever wasted.
