My Hair is SHEDDING
A few months postpartum, you will start to notice a gradual loss of hair. But don’t worry, this is totally normal! We have a shift in hormone levels to thank for this particular transition known as Postpartum Hair Loss.
Seeing more hair fall out than usual can be stressful. One reassuring sign is that the hair does grow back! It is not a permanent loss of hair. While it is incredibly annoying pulling hair out of your brushes, or off your fingers in the shower, know that it isn’t gone forever.
My personal experience with postpartum hair loss is that it started falling out around four months PP, and continued for about 6 months. By the time my daughter turned one, the additional shedding of hair had subsided.
I started to experience hair regrowth and soon enough the emergence of baby hairs appeared. These baby hairs can look wild, so I suggest getting a styling cream if you want to tame those bad boys. A quick slick back pony can be your bff during periods of hair regrowth. Volumizing Dry Shampoo or textured spray can help create fullness as well.
All in all, our babies are worth every single “loss”. From hair loss, to loss of sleep, those baby smiles make it all better!
