MOM HACK | Making Bath Time A Breeze
Bath time is my favorite because my youngest absolutely lovesss getting her bath. Something about baby baths just melt me like why are they so cute??!!
Keep reading for mom hacks on how to keep your little one smiley and comfortable during bath time!
SET OUT TOWEL OUTSIDE OF BATHTUB
Having the towel laid out and ready to go as soon as bath time is over allows you to do a quick transfer out of the tub. Keep this part short and sweet to prevent baby from getting cold. Lay them in the towel and wrap that little burrito baby up!
HAVE EVERYTHING IN ONE PLACE
Have your pajamas set out wherever you can access all of the items you may need once the bath is over. This way, you can put on a diaper, put on lotion, comb hair, and dress baby in their pajamas all in one spot!
BEST BABY HYGIENE PRODUCT
Baby safety cotton swabs are something I never knew I needed. I love that the swabs help get out dead skin and ear wax without entering the ear canal. This helps keep your babies ears clean and prevent infections. Warning: baby may find this ticklish and giggle a lot ☺️

As a parent, I've found that bath time can either be a joyful bonding experience or a stressful ordeal. My goal has always been to make it the former, and over time, I've collected a few extra tricks that have transformed our routine into something we both look forward to. Before we even think about splashing, I make sure the bathroom is warm and cozy. There’s nothing worse than a shivering baby! I also do a quick wrist test for the water temperature – just right, not too hot, not too cold. Having a warm, soft hooded towel (like those adorable unicorn ones, or any soft, quick-drying towel!) ready right next to the tub is a game-changer for that swift transfer we talked about, minimizing any chill. Setting out a fresh diaper, a cozy sleeper, and gentle baby lotion beforehand on the changing pad ensures everything is within arm's reach for a smooth transition. Once my little one is safely in their bath support, it’s all about engagement. I always have a small collection of their favorite bath toys – those little squirters, floating animals, or stacking cups are always a hit! We sing silly songs, or I'll just talk to them about their day, keeping eye contact and smiling. This makes them feel secure and turns bath time into playtime, not just a chore. When it's time for washing, I use gentle baby wash and shampoo, working quickly but thoroughly, always making sure to rinse properly to avoid any skin irritation, especially around their delicate skin folds. For their hair, a quick, gentle wash is usually enough. Immediately after wrapping them in that burrito-style towel, I swiftly move to our designated changing station. This is where all the magic happens. After a quick pat-down, the diaper goes on, followed by a soothing lotion massage. It’s not just about moisturizing; it’s a wonderful opportunity for some skin-to-skin bonding, which is so precious. Then, into the warm sleeper they go. For delicate hygiene, I can't stress enough how useful those baby safety swabs are for cleaning around the ears and nose. They're designed with thick, soft tips to be safe and effective for cleaning without posing any risk to the ear canal, helping prevent infections and keeping those tiny ears clean. Sometimes, bath time isn't always smooth sailing, and that's okay. If my baby starts to fuss, I first check the water temperature or if they're simply getting tired. Sometimes they just need a little extra reassurance and snuggles, or perhaps the bath is too stimulating. Making it a sensory-rich experience, rather than just a quick wash, has been key for us. It’s about creating a calm, loving environment where they feel safe, happy, and loved. These extra steps have truly made our bath time routine a cherished part of our daily rhythm, turning potential chaos into calm.
