Core Memories Last Longer Than Messes Do
Are you a mom who can’t stand messes like me? Letting messes happen, and not cleaning them up, literally pains me. However, after having children this is one of the sacrifices I’ve made, and I’m learning to be okay with it 😂😅
One activity that I have grown to love doing with my toddler is baking, and no it’s not something you’d want to take on if you’re not willing to let messes be as they are. Everything can be cleaned up after! And it’s the core memories being made with your little one that truly matter.
I love baking with my daughter because of all the benefits it brings! I try to teach her life skills throughout the process such as measuring, mixing, and following instructions.
Her patience and focus increases as we wait for the muffins to bake. She expresses her creativity when she decorates cupcakes and cookies.
I introduce math and science by identifying numbers, and watching the batter transform from liquid to solid.
I love spending quality time with my daughter, listening to her laughter as she accidentally drops batter on her Elsa dress. I watch her confidence bloom as she delights in the product we made together.
