What My Baby and Toddler Ate for Lunch

Today was a super easy lunch for my three year old and nine month old!

Being a full time work from home mom can be challenging on days when we have both girls home with us. My husband works from home, too, so between the both of us we make it work! However, it doesn’t mean it’s the chillest of work days 🫠

Today’s lunch for my three year old was a cheese quesadilla, strawberries, and cucumber with ranch. She ate about half her plate!

My nine month old had strawberries, provolone cheese, and half of a pear and spinach pouch. She’s getting better and better at eating solids without gagging, which makes offering her new foods much more enjoyable!

This is was a super healthy, and easy lunch to whip up in less than five minutes.

For toddlers, easy-to-eat options like cheese quesadillas, fruits, and vegetables can make lunchtime both fun and healthy. Toddlers often enjoy the variety of flavors they can explore, so it's essential to introduce new foods confidently. For babies, it’s critical to offer soft foods that promote self-feeding, like peeled pears or cheese strips, to enhance their motor skills. Starting solids should be a pleasurable experience, and it is vital to constantly observe your baby’s reactions to different textures. Pairing soft foods with gentler flavors like provolone cheese can encourage acceptance of more diverse meals over time. Incorporating healthy snacks like cut veggies and fresh fruits into your weekly meal prep can save precious time during busy days. This approach allows you to provide balanced nutrition without compromising on taste or convenience. Keep meal times stress-free and enjoyable, and don't forget to get those kids involved in the kitchen as they grow. Kitchen participation can build interest in healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime.
