Weekly Farmers Market Trips Are The Best 🍑🍒🌽

Going to the farmers market is such a fun and aesthetically pleasing errand to run. I could easily spend hours in the market and leave with every available item in my cart.

Why is seeing all the fresh produce sitting outside is so much cuter than seeing it inside a grocery store under florescent lights. It makes it even more fun when my daughter tags along, because she is eager to try everything!

We brought home so much produce! My daughter’s favorite items that she could eat every day are the sweet corn (also my fav), blueberries, raspberries, peaches, cherry tomatoes, cherries, apples, and strawberries.

I can’t wait to go back and get more of the summer produce, but I am sooo excited for fall to arrive, too. I’m definitely soaking in summer, but nothing beats the vibes of pumpkin picking and getting the yummiest fall pies and cider!

Not only can you find locally sourced, fresh produce, but participating in these markets supports local farmers and contributes to the community. One of the highlights is the vibrant atmosphere and the opportunity to interact with vendors, learn about their farming practices, and discover new fruits and vegetables. For families, bringing children along can greatly enhance the experience. Kids can learn about where their food comes from, develop an appreciation for healthy eating, and even pick out their own snacks. Engaging toddlers in the process of selecting fresh items like blueberries, peaches, or sweet corn can encourage them to try new foods at home. As the seasons change, so does the selection at farmers markets. Summer brings an abundance of berries, stone fruits, and a variety of leafy greens, while fall introduces pumpkins and rich harvests ideal for soups and pies. With the approach of autumn, it’s a perfect time to go pumpkin picking and try delicious fall recipes filled with seasonal flavors. In summary, regular visits to the farmers market can instill healthy habits, foster family bonding, and teach children about nutrition and sustainability. It's not just shopping; it's an enriching experience that benefits both your family and your local community.
