I Started ✨
Today makes 3 days in a row I’ve been more disciplined about my health & fitness than I have in the last three years. I’ve struggled so much with loving myself for even longer. 💔 But I’m also more than ready now to start accomplishing personal goal that I know are a necessity to my own happiness. ❤️🩹
I want to start posting my progress here. And today is day one. I’m too embarrassed to say how much I weigh but eventually I’ll tell. I’m in a size 14-16 jeans 👖 Nuff Said 🤫
With all that being said , I’ve been using my Fitbit since March though and I just remembered I can keep friends on there and have fun little challenges with each other. 🏃♀️ It also helps me feel more accountable!
Anyone use the Fitbit app? I’m Harmoni91 💁🏽♀️ Add Me! 😌
Starting a health and fitness journey can feel incredibly daunting, especially when you've been battling with self-love and discipline for what feels like forever. I totally get it. For me, it was years of feeling stuck, but a little voice inside kept telling me: you have to start somewhere. It’s like that powerful quote I saw recently – 'First attempts are often bad, but they are necessary to reach the 100th attempt. Put your ego aside and start.' That really resonated with me, reminding me that perfection isn't the goal, just progress. My turning point truly came when I decided to leverage the tools I already had. I've had a Fitbit since March, but only recently did I really dive into its potential beyond just tracking steps. What I've discovered is how incredibly motivating the app's features can be. The visual feedback of a '3-day streak' for my walks, seeing those 5,396 steps, 566 calories burned, and 39 zone minutes accumulate, gives me such a boost. It’s not just numbers; it’s tangible proof of my effort, and that's a huge psychological win. Beyond just personal tracking, the community aspect of Fitbit has been a game-changer. I remembered that you can add friends and participate in fun little challenges. This instantly adds a layer of accountability that I desperately needed. Knowing that friends can see my progress (or lack thereof!) pushes me to stay consistent. It creates a supportive environment where we can cheer each other on, and that shared motivation is invaluable, especially on days when my personal drive might waver. If you're looking for that extra push, connecting with others on the app is something I highly recommend. For anyone else out there feeling like they’re at square one, my biggest advice is to just begin. Don't wait for the perfect moment or for all the answers. Embrace the 'first attempt' mentality. Use whatever tools you have at your disposal – whether it's a fitness tracker, a simple walking routine, or an online community. Track your small victories, like hitting a 3-day streak or just making healthier food choices. These little wins build momentum and confidence. And remember, it's okay to start small and even to feel a little embarrassed about where you are right now. My journey started with acknowledging I'm in size 14-16 jeans, which felt vulnerable to share, but that honesty is part of the process. It's about being real with yourself and taking that first step towards a happier, healthier you.
